Yeah, that's a good idea, I use current effect because sometime it's too far to see the details in the game, but I do have a funnel version just like you said~

it looks like a laboratory hologram. if you made holo-projector models to go with them it would be really cool, especially if the hologram and projector are styled like each race they belong to
Hi guys, I have finished the asset mod for all holo-unit effects. It contains different colors and all changeable materials are added to the behaviors.
Since many skilled modders think opacity and glaze effects could be cool to be used together, you can add the material to units instead replace them.
Delphinium, do you know how to recreate the Protoss warp-in effects for structures and some units? Especially when they finished warping in where there's a stream of bluish light running along the surface of the model while revealing an invisible or water-like model beneath it?
I know how to use alpha masks but it doesn't reveal the structure like it does with blizzard's models, rather my experiments reveals the object not in a gradual way like scanning it through a scanner, but randomly. I think this has to do with UV mapping?
I'm lost.

I know how to create that effects, but unfortunately the effect needs second UV Channel with a front view wrap-mapping.
You are right, it's hard to do it without additional UV works. Another option is use a special UV channel, but can only get a weaker and unfaithful result, just like Blizzard did in the Void, these holo-units in the spear of adun's research UIs.
I have received a request from @TaurusCZ about various grenades several days ago, The attachment has packed up with a group of mines, grenades and other military equipment for you guys, as well as their relevant FX models. I wish TaurusCZ and every modder who has interest can find fun with them.

with the oxygen canister I think it might work if you add an effect that indicates the suit is absorbing it, a vortex or funnel or something.
