I would assume that you do it the same as the ghost nuke; as in the launch "effect" is just part of the visual that becomes invisible is it goes into the sky and then the actual unit missile is created with a persistent above the target point.
Yeah, it's a rocket that directly flies out of your sight likes ghost's nuke. The SCUD is a ballistic missile so the attack animation actually is split into two parts, the up and down. I have also tried the arcing ballistic curve but it looks bad because the missile is very much bigger than the projectiles in the real game and always make you can't see the scene but only the big rocket.
If in the future I get requests on rocket artillery units, I will try arcing ballistic curve at that moment.
Finally, I have finished the SCUD unit. At last I made 8 different models for the single unit, the Unit, the missile and death models. I will add it into the Modern war mod in days.
You are welcome, it will be cool if you share the screenshot of the model effect in the game. That will be very useful for me to do further development.

That's just to cool. I think good building models are some of the coolest maybe because starcraft is lacking in that area.

Today there is another effect model, I have found a new way to control the rotation of particles.
Today there is an enhancement effect for the sword and a update of Blizzard Enforcement company.
Interns left the 486's running too long again, I see. Those particles are looking pretty fancy.

I was hoping to create an arcing projectile, since it would be one that is SDI-targettable. Might still be possible...
