I like user made maps, but I don't play them because I CAN'T play them, since I don't have the game. Same deal with the editor, I have it and use it, but I still didn't buy the game.
1: The current system woefully limits map makers, unless things changed since last I looked. You can only publish 5 maps, your map has to be within a certain size limit (WC3 maps could be as large as you damn well pleased, just people wouldn't play em cuz they're too big), your map has to adhere to content Blizzard approves, your map can't have any "offensive" words, like Hell, your map wont ever be played because of the horrid popularity system that'll forever keep your map at the bottom of the list. Blizzard fucked over the community with this shit.
2: I'm against it because they shouldn't be handling custom maps. They reminds me of the government, having to stick their fingers into everything. SC, and WC3 had managed to keep a good custom content system for 12 goddamned fucking years, that NOBODY complained about, ever. We don't need blizzard telling us what we can and can not play, or forcing us to host to their servers. If they wanted to make such publishing services OPTIONAL, so be it. But I shouldn't have to fucking publish my map for all to see, just to test it with friends to make sure it's even playable.
3: It's horribly broken, only the very top maps ever get played. Sure I could 'show more', and join that diplomacy map that's 50th on the list. But NO ONE will join it with me. Why? Because the way it's set up, they'd have no idea other people were willing to play. Atleast with player-hosting you knew exactly what maps people were actively playing. With this popularity system all you know is the top 10 maps are played, and everything else is likely a ghost town. To absolutely kills any sort of variety in the maps you can play.
4: When did they say that? Cuz once they fix it (remove it, you can't make such a shitty system work unless it's optional), I might actually buy this game. But as long as the only maps I can play are Nexus wars and various tug of war maps, then screw it. WC3 died when DOTA came out because it was only Dota, all Dota. SC2 suffers the same fate, only instead of DOTA it's tug of war maps, simply because the other maps are always empty.
If blizzard supports us, and custom content, they should have just left well enough alone. Give us a badass editor and let us run with it, don't force us to adhere to stupid restrictions and shit.

Try using the "new game" check box when searching for games, its basically the equivlent of the game list in wc3.....

4: DOTA did kill WC3, you must be a dota-fan to think otherwise. WC3 use to have TONS of games, you could find anything. You could play cat vs mouse, and then a conquest europe map, and then a world diplomacy, and then a galactic conquest, and then a homeworld map, and then a racing map, then a mario-party-meets-WC map, and then a tower defense map, and so many more. Then DOTA came along and all you see is DOTA and the odd clan recruitment game. To say DOTA didn't kill WC3 is naive at best.
Blizzard HINDERS their community by micro-managing everything. The community went on just fine before, we don't need blizzard holding our hands. All we need from them is a badass map editor, and the freedom to create and spread our work. Nothing else.

You do have the right to make your own content outside of blizzard, so if you have a problem then don't support them. Make your own game, distribute it on the itunes marketplace, distribute on pirate bay, distribute anywhere. You can get content out to people and you don't need blizzard, just like this discussion doesn't need to be made.
Another thing, if you can find models you like that are public domain, you can simply get a student edition of 3ds max 2011 from the autodesk website and make your own bones and animations to make the models work properly. Just convert them to m3's when you're done and that's roughly all you'd need to do. Mapster isn't about doing things for you, it's about explaining to you how to do something once you've tried and got stumped.

I asked if models existed, meaning if someone's made them. If I planned on taking them from the games, why would I ask if they exist, since obviously they exist, they're in the game. Hi guys I was looking for halo models and found a Covanent Assault Carrier (Capital Ship) however the ship moves side ways and i dont have the programs for editing it to moves currectly so if someone can fix it I will Officaly post it here ( for who ever needs it...but i will give credit to the right website ONCE i find it i have had this model for a couple of years now...lol)

Models from halo have not been ported and never will be due to copyright issues.
Someone could probably create look-a-likes, but none exist as of yet
