Ok I have the textures working but i am seeing a little box under the Covenent cruiser, and the UNSC Frigate and Cruiser but it does not show up in autodesk do you think you could take a look at them from starcraft 2 map editor i have no idea what it is.
I noticed when I first imported the cruiser it had a bone and single object attached to it well below the model in 3ds max.
If you are unable to see it, it might be a hidden object. in 3DS Max right click in the viewport, and choose "Unhide All" and see if the object appears
You can also try and select the object using the Select By Name menu ( Hotkey H )
to add a new sound to an ability you first need to add a new Sound entry in the Sound tab, then create a Sound Class Actor in the Actor tab and set the events to what action you want it to activate on.
I am unfamiliar with the exact steps and would be unable to give you a walk through without research.
Or checking out Mapster Mentor Thread, alot of individuals with expertise in specific aspects of mapping have volunteered to assist those in need, You can PM one of these people and im sure they would be able to give you a step-by-step tutorial.
do you by any chance know how to make a unit that is using the Purifiers Planet Craker ability use the ability on the move (like the glassing ray in halo 3)??
You can also use NeoDex 2.65 and Sc2 Art Tools. Since NeoDex emitates Wc3 Art Tools, the Sc2 Art tools do some auto conversions but you'll need to transform materials, particle emitters and ribbon emitters yourself.

Looks like you forgot to change "Color Operations" to "Use RGB", so the material is using the alpha channel as team color. Refer back to Image 2 http://www.sc2mapster.com/media/attachments/47/972/Sc2MaterialAdd2.jpg
In the lower right hand corner it shows the location.

I would recommend asking in the Data Forum: http://www.sc2mapster.com/forums/development/data/
