So, before I start unwrapping this model I decided to post WIP picture of it.
Any feedback is appreciated; if I should add some details, remove some, change some parts, and etc.
Shoulders will be used as attachment points for weapons, as well as hand weapons, and (center)torso.
Sure, all my models will be available for download.
In day or two. I need to unwrap it and give Samoner or Rusty to do the texture for it.
Animations are already done since we have rigg that will be used for all chicken leg machines.
Nice structure of legz Gaffy. Only think I prefer is using magnetic field when connecting ankle with shin. Not mechanical.
Tho that could be possible only in fiction :) .
Yea, blood asp definitely. I had different concept of torso in my book. A bit similar to blood asp. But its was too hard to do it. So I made something between my concept and blood asp.
Wc3 models have like 800 tris I think.
SC2 ones have 2000 tris, I think.
This one has about 2600 tris.
So you guyz think it lacks of polys/details ? Oo
Look at one SC2 model. Actually look at any Crysis Mechwarrior Living Legends model.
Normal maps created illusion where you think think you see lots of details when its just flat face.
Well if it will lack of details after texture, then I will add it...
Or if you guyz think otherwise.
I think hes meaning wheres the high poly model that your going to bake onto the low poly model. Ie Normal map. The mechs in those shots are the high polys that are baked onto the lower poly model.
Those red balls are parts where we will attach weapons. Model is made so you will be able to have more variants of same mech; same mech(machine) with different type of weapons instealled. It has nothing to do with model. Its just like "hint" where weapons can be placed.

looks pretty highpoly, doesn't it ?
5k Polygones are way too much in my oppinion. but it's nice :)
Actually its not that high poly. There are more objects on the scene.
Model Tris Count: 2600
Poly count is like half of that...

I know absolutely nothing about 3d modeling, so forgive my stupid question, but what are those red balls?
Model looks great btw, can't wait to see the finished version
this is fantastic! Ive just gotten into the whole Battletech Universe in the last couple months so this is a dream come true.
