Yes! But optimized for Starcraft II. Current WoW models don't work too well aside from being static doodads.
By optimize, I mean tone the textures down a bit in terms of size since the ships were designed to accommodate players going inside of them (they are huge in WoW), update textures for SC2, and add attachment points so abilities can be properly used (actors for buffs don't "stick" currently and the workarounds aren't ideal for ship battles). With current textures, the lighting is way off. I am not sure why since I really don't know much about modeling.

Dumb modeling question: if I sent you an already animated ship, is it possible to just "copy and paste" the animation into the WoW ships and save tons of time? The model in question is the wooden ship in the screenshot I posted.

Honestly I don't think you're going to find people to release Heroes assets here. Messing around with that stuff personally is one thing but using the assets in a game is ban territory. Just wait until blizzard actually releases the full game and you'll be fine.
Agree, I do have access to the assets, but the animation is still a big blur to me, I only figured out the model and bone structure, so I can look at the models, but there are A LOT of them...
Also I noticed in the original script for importing m3 models, there is always only 1 mesh, with sometimes is a pain... so my script makes multiple meshes as are described in the m3 model structure.
animations on the other hand are still a huge pain....
mm, interesting model, where did you get it, cause I believe it is a violation of the rules to use other models from other games, and this is clearly a model taken from the One Piece game, or at least the textures are from that game.
The only animation I seem to find is the stand animation, like in WoW
So you can just export the models from WoW model viewer to m3
By the way, the importer you talked about in your tutorial, does it properly imports the Heroes of the Storm meshes and animations ? Or did you use my script to import them, I read you applied the existing animation/skinning from the original model so I presume you didn't import them from the Heroes right?
I did Tassadar using the most recent of Nintoxicated/Leruster's importer before you made yours I believe. As long as only the import mesh and vertex normals options are checked some of the models can be loaded up. There are no animations I just rigged him to the preserver. As far as the textures go I just used the preserver material and switched it to Tassadar's textures and applied it to the mesh.
I found the ship model on http://cafe.naver.com/star2model (Model download). I have no idea what One Piece is, but it was the only ship I could find. One thing I didn't change about textures was the sails but I suppose I should now. I googled it and saw it did say "Marine" on it. Does it mean that sc2 maps that are themed around Game of Thrones or Star Trek or use Halo models break rules?
The stand animation is all that is really needed for a ship. Overall, ships don't do much except wobble a little with the water. Would it be difficult to attach that to the otherwise static WoW ships and give them one attachment point for being hit and launching stuff?
I would like to add that your models look really good!
I sort of don't like the thought of kitbashing a naval unit with a SC2 carrier or another flying unit. It just wouldn't work well. At most, I could see attaching a hull of a ship to a blimp but then you wouldn't see much of the hull due to the mostly top-down RTS view.

The ship models in WoW are not animated at all, they are scripted with events, so I will not be animating them either.

Is it possible to convert WC3 ship models to SC2?

How is it animated? With bones? than it should not be a major problem

I can imagine just taking a WoW or WC3 ship and attaching it to a carrier or a flying ship would give it a decent animation with the floating and all.
