In my map, I have custom water doodads, if you don't know what you mean, I am talking about on the bel'shir water there are Lilly pads, I have created a custom version using the zerus water plants doodad m3 files to create about 10 models (one for each variation), and then added them to the doodads that float on the bel'shir water. The problem is that no matter where you are on the map you can see them, through the BLACK fog of war. Does anyone know or have any ideas of how to fix this?

It does not work because the water only uses the models, not directly m3 files, if the water did use actors I am certain it would work. Any other ideas?

Ok well to try and explain better: the unit uses an actor, the actor uses the models, and the model uses the m3 file.
Ok so I want to add the "zerus water plant" to the doodads that float on water, I have already done this. To do it I could not use a model that has variations in it, so I have to get each m3 file that has is a "zerus water plant" and put it in a custom model. I then put the model into the section where you put the doodads you want to spawn on the water. I cannot put in an actor because it does not allow it.
Yes the model (s) I am using are aquatic foliage, you can see them on the HotS mission where Kerrigan is being transformed into a primal.
I hope this makes sense now, I am horrible at explaining things.

Well ok well I have already done it and this is why I do want to make it a floating water thing:
Very fiddly and unpleasant to do
takes too long
the ones I place manually, the waves sometimes go over the plants and this look ugly
the ones I place manually are stationary and do not wobble with the waves
it is really hard to place them so they look natural and the 'water foliage' ones do automatically
I don't have to adjust the height of I do the 'water foliage'
the 'water foliage' automatically changes the doodad size
Thank you for asking the question, it was very entertaining answering it.
BTW I was testing my map to see if the same thing happened to custom ground foliage (or grass)(the custom ground foliage was the elescaro curtain, looks awesome!) and there for had to turn the graphics up on my crappy laptop (from the lowest) so I could see the ground foliage. When I tested it, it did not have the glitch but nor did the 'zerus water plant' copies that are on the water. So either it's fixed (unlikely because I did not do anything to fix it), the glitch is not present in graphics setting higher that minimum, or the glitch is not present when you test it from the editor rather than battle.net.

Be sure to check out the extension mod: Hots Custom Map support on NA and EU, Despite the name it greatly expands the roster of options for the default 3 races and is updated all the way to NCO.
I am guessing you are talking about the (Basic) Art: Flags + and then do I tick or untick the box, it is already ticked.

I figured out the glitch is not present when shaders is turned on to medium of higher.

Well that statement was contradictory. The .m3 format is the model.
You saying the model of interest is some sort of aquatic foliage?
There is the SOp (Higher Of Terrain And Water) SOp.
Maybe you could reference in this post the exact original you want to imitate?

Why do you insist on planting the doodads as foliage? Just make them as any other doodad and place them manually.
