Ok so i'm trying to make my custom unit have the stimpack without it needing to be researched(from start of game) i cannot for the life of me figure it out, and please don't refer me to some tutorial from a year or longer ago i have looked at almost all of them them and their wording just doesn't make sense to me b/c all the things their telling u to do was in SC2 Editor beta and the buttons and methods of doing things are different now and what not have changed.. please just help me
No, they haven't really changed. I've been Data Editing for a while now and the requirements have always been conveniently located at the same spot, although finding it for the first time sure can be troublesome.
Go to Stim, look for the field Ability: Commands+, open into that, you will see a window pop up with Commands, Flags, Requirements and Default Button sections. If you look at Requirements, you will see "Use Stimpack" as the requirement and a bunch of green buttons that look like an Armory. You will direct your attention to below the Scroll Bar of the requirements section and see a red 'X'. Click on that red X to remove the "Use Stimpack" requirement from the ability.
if you want to do it for the marine it is simple go to the stimpack ability then inside the commands array click execute then you will see a section called requirements click the little red at the bottom right side of that section to remove the requirement.
if its not the marine then it's the same just you also have to give the unit the ability. which is just under the unit you want to give it to double click the abilities array add the ability stimpack. then hit ok then go into command card array click where you want your button then add a button of your choosing and in the pull down menus you will find your stimpack ability just make sure its set to that and you are done.
