Exactly what it sounds like. I want to make a cinematic for my map featuring a drop pod, but I want it to be there from the beginning, that is, having only the model, not it dropping from the sky.
Im trying to look at it in the data editor but I haven't found an effect or variable which controls this.
Any ideas? I really doubt this would be impossible
Haven't got the editor in front of me right now, so this may not be precise, but I'll try to help as much as I can.
Look around for the different models, there's a model named something along the name of "Droppod Droped Model" if you make use of it and play its Stand animation, it should just remain on the ground iirc.
Worst case would be the pod only has the moving animation; then you would need to pause the animation at a fixed moment or something.
Either way you need to mess with the actor linked to the unit (everything you can actually see ingame has an actor). Look at the model in the previewer, have a look at the supported animations and let the actor play a static one using the actor events.

@Gurrgel: Go
I think you can take the doodad and edit the actor then remove animations so it just stays still.
Thanks bros. But no luck so far.
@Gurrgel:Can't find any other pod in the menus, except for the Zerg pod.
@happy04: Well its a unit not an actor and when I go to modify properties, I can't find anything to remove its animation.

Yay, it worked. I just deleted everything in the actor but birth. Just what I wanted.
Thanks guys
