I searched but could not find anything about this.
I'm trying to make a brood lord's weapon non-homing.
I tried making the effects of the weapon target a point instead of unit or unit/point
This seemed to have worked, but then I found that the brood lord wasn't actually doing any damage, even if the unit it was attacking just stood there.
So decided to add a search area to the escort damage effect, then it turned out that even with the radius at 0, the brood lord would hit no matter what.
But I'm not really looking for a shooter-type system (not at the moment anyway, but thanks for the link, i'm sure i'll find it useful if I want to do that sort of thing.) I'm just trying to make this brood lord attack normally but have his missile dodgable.
Surely I don't have to go through all that to do something that was very simple in war3, right?

Try applying the damage search to a separate effect that runs when the broodling is created.
It won't seem to let me add a search to anything but the damage effect.
