You simply go to the actor for the doodad and add a "actor footprint"
as for your gate, check the animations, then, via trigger "send an "actor message - play animation". if your going to be using the gate, dont add a footprint, instead, add a dynamic pathing blocker than you can remove and add as the gate lowers and rises.

This is a pretty basic problem. How do I make it so I can't walk through doodads? (Metal Wall doodad)
And I would like to know how to make a doodad gate, using the Metal Gate model that I could open/close by triggers.
