I made a "research baneling" Button
I have made a "research baneling" upgrade
Made an requirement that should work perfect.
I made an ability and in that ability i added the research baneling upgrade
On the units command card i placed the button and added the ability.
However i don't get this to work as planed. The research, button upgrade works fine but the requirements don't work at all.
Whats i the difference between the "Info - Button - Requirements" in the ability pop up and the requirements on the command card for the button?
When i look at zerg melee/armor/air upgrade it is defined in the ability but NOT on the command card.
"Show in glossary" is enabled in the ability pop up, i don't know what that does.
Set info button state is Restricted, i don't know what that does.
On guides i have found i see them add it in both ability and command card.I have not been able to grasp this and is hoping that you nice fellows can help me understand it and how it works and what the difference is.
Requirements added in the command card are purely visual and do not restrict anything at all.
Usually adding it to the ability should work fine.
Shown in Glossary afaik determines, if teh ability should be shown as an ability owned by a unit in the help menu / tech tree
Please explain this to me.
1. Shows the icon as intended and its usable as intended. It works.
2. Shows no relevant icons at all why? If this is as i think it is then it should work as "1." but the button should dissipater when its qued, in progress or completed.
I set the requirements only in abilitys pop up, not in teh command card.
Please help me solve this matter :( Why cant i get it to work as intended?
If i remove the "show" conditions then it work just as "1." but i want it to go away when i have researched it :/
From my understanding, it should work as you described. Maybe try 2 separate requirements, one like your 1 and one for show only used by the button in the command card?
Kinda stupid but the 'Use' and 'Show' Conditions are technically the same. 'Use' are conditions required to use the unit/ability/research/etc. While the 'Show' conditions are required to show the button/unit/ability/research/etc.... I think that's correct... devs really need to add some documentations or at least a basic instruction manual.
You should realise all the requirement conditions in the data table is inconsistent. Simple reason is there is more than one way to approach setting up the requirement conditions. One way is what you've just done in your images where you place a value to your count which is very useful when you're making leveled upgrades such as weapons.
Or...
-USE
-Count Unit ZZZZZ Completed
-SHOW
-NOT
-Count Upgrade OOOOO Qued or better
but there's way more ways than this... even something more simpler

Thank you so much for that information!
