The topic for the third week is story mode. Let's create something where the editor is actually meant for: Creating cutscenes with story mode models. It can be just Raynor walking in bar or something more complicated like multiple characters being angry and shouting at each other for some reason and they end up killing each other. Story mode models have a lot of animations, so there are a lot thing you can do with it. Also, don't forget to add the campaign dependencies to your map and I believe all of the models start with "SM" in their name.
I wanted to make one, but I just ended up playing too much LoL >.>
If I find the time tomorrow, I'll put one up. I've got a genius idea.
Btw, anyone know that peaceful/happy forest/nature tune, that I think is found in old cartoons? I have no idea what its called, but its a really simple and peaceful sounding tune. I could really use that one.
Some time ago I contacted guys who created FaceFX - software that was used to do the lipsyncs for all the talking characters in StarCraft II. I asked for fully functional version of this software for personal use. Unfortunately, current version does not support StarCraft II .fx format BUT I was advised to use UDK (Unreal Development Kit) since FaceFX is an integral part of this kit for some time now.
Never really spent much time figuring this thing out (eventually I'd love to) but if someone is interested in editing the lipsync data, then the UDK might be the way to do it. Necessary plugins for exporting FaceFX model ready from max/maya are also supplied.
I have a minute and a half about done, I just need to add in the voice acting and some foley work.. It's not following these rules but it's something I'm working on and I'll be sharing all my work here first before I release it.
