Hello all, new here so bare with me.
I have searched all over the forums for this but found nothing and hope I am clear with my question/problem. I have used the M3 exporter to send a "test" model with texture to Galaxy. Problem is I am trying to use the /Assets/Textures root file the exporter sends the material too automatically. When I go into the Galaxy editor to look for the Assets folder, it is missing. The path I take to get to the folder is Program Files/Starcraft II/Mods/Core.SC2Mod . Once I am there all I get are these really huge files, Backup.MPQ, Base.MPQ, base.SC2Assets, Base.SC2Data, etc. There are files but no folders. I also look in the other folders past the Mods subfolder and get the same type of files. Am I even looking in the right spot or am I just being retarded and need a special version of the editor.
If you want to export models from the editor open the model list.
-enter the data editor
-go to the models tab or open one if its not open
-select a model on that list and go to 'model file'
-there you can browse all the models and right-click then select 'export'
You can do the same for textures by browsing from anywhere you can select a texture file, such as the icon file for buttons.
That I know. Its importing and finding the Assets/Textures part in Galaxy editor I am having problems with. There are no folders just very large files all the data is saved too. Sorry, not good with asking the questions or describing problems.
I forgot: Welcome to SC2Mapster! Hope you find everything to your map's needs around :-)
You mean you imported them and want to find them? There's an importer button in the editor, have you used it? After you import something you can move it to the right folder, just righ-click it and then 'Move Files'
Thanks a bunch and besides the editor problem I am having everything else is really helpful.
Yes I have imported the files. From what I have seen on here and on youtube there should be Asset folders for me to store my imports. Problem is, no Asset folders to access. All get is MPQ files that have the assets stored on them. I am really confused haha.
When you first import files there are no folders, you have to create them. That's why you need to move the files and then create a new file path for them. This way you can create all paths you need.
Ugh, I swear I wish I used a little more common sense. Okay thanks a bunch. Going to check this out and see if I can finally get my materials to work now. Thanks again SoulFilcher.
