Nevermind. I figured out the problem. Stupid Texture Path was way way way off. Had to many sub-folders to go through in the path. All working now. Thanks for the help all and sorry for wasting your time.
It is a pyramid. Made it for testing only. And yes, it was set to Edit Mesh and had the UVW modifier on it at the time. In the Internal Texture path part of the exporter I pasted in C:\Users\kuy\Desktop\Assets\Model\alien_diffuse.tga . As for the texture I used a 1024 x 1024 texture. Originally it was a 256 x 256 one, and I changed it thinking it was a size problem. The texture is below. I used only one texture and had as Diffuse. I know it sucks but its all for testing purposes.
Okay so now I have figured out this whole texture path thing when importing a model and texture from 3ds max to the editor. Problem is now the material is coming up as black with white boxes on it having the number 1. The texture/material is a diffuse set as a starcraft 2 material using a starcraft 2 bitmap. I have done both .DDS and .TGA extensions with the same result. Also I am also using 3ds Max 8. I know the texture path is correct because when it is not the model comes up blue. I even tried seeing it in game and saved then restarted and no change happened. Please help if you can because I really want to get somewhere. Thanks all.
I have a question about the Assets/Textures you are talking about. Is it an actual folder in the editor and where is it found? The area I looked in seems not to even have an Assets folder to access.
Ugh, I swear I wish I used a little more common sense. Okay thanks a bunch. Going to check this out and see if I can finally get my materials to work now. Thanks again SoulFilcher.
Thanks a bunch and besides the editor problem I am having everything else is really helpful.
Yes I have imported the files. From what I have seen on here and on youtube there should be Asset folders for me to store my imports. Problem is, no Asset folders to access. All get is MPQ files that have the assets stored on them. I am really confused haha.
That I know. Its importing and finding the Assets/Textures part in Galaxy editor I am having problems with. There are no folders just very large files all the data is saved too. Sorry, not good with asking the questions or describing problems.
Hello all, new here so bare with me.
I have searched all over the forums for this but found nothing and hope I am clear with my question/problem. I have used the M3 exporter to send a "test" model with texture to Galaxy. Problem is I am trying to use the /Assets/Textures root file the exporter sends the material too automatically. When I go into the Galaxy editor to look for the Assets folder, it is missing. The path I take to get to the folder is Program Files/Starcraft II/Mods/Core.SC2Mod . Once I am there all I get are these really huge files, Backup.MPQ, Base.MPQ, base.SC2Assets, Base.SC2Data, etc. There are files but no folders. I also look in the other folders past the Mods subfolder and get the same type of files. Am I even looking in the right spot or am I just being retarded and need a special version of the editor.
