(like the replaceable texture on the trees in wc3)
you might want to check wether you can edit the standard model to have your new skin as one of the replaceabletextures so you can use both versions ingame! (if u desire that at all)

I'm sure there is a way. There's a trigger function for it, but I haven't played with it.
i dont know b/c i havent played with this myself too much, but i THINK the trigger texture thing is making it act as if it were on 'korhal' tileset (texture) or bel shir etc.... i think some doodads have options for this so they blend with the surroundings better. i may be wrong, but i was under the impression that the skin/texture file for a model was hardcoded into the .m3 file.
Is it possible to change the texture of a model without importing a new model ?
Just replace the texture file by using the same path with the imported texture.
