Fully functional worker model. Mesh, Textures, and Animations all done from scratch.
Overall a fun project, enjoyed textures the most. Learned a few tricks and work arounds for the M3 plugins that were causing some headaches.
Model is available to anyone who would like to use it, please credit ZombieZasz.
Cant see any of the attachment points except the weapon left and right, sure you attached them correctly? Perfect for the task, though if you wanted to make it more flexible for other map makers, you could add a turret around the waist. Also the tread textures seem to spin a little fast. Still it is a very nice model.
the attachments are there, just really really tiny. Its a bug from the way they were created ( made all the attach points at once with the default value of "custom" then assigned ref_point. Ref_point needs to be assigned during creation.)
Great model! Will you work on the other units? 3d models is one of the few things this project is lacking. We're working on the data, but using placeholder models is boring.

I may work on the other models in the future, but I have a few projects of my own I would like to work on before doing so. I am also open to help anyone who has any questions or difficulties with modeling for those who might be intimidated and/or inexperienced with 3DSmax. Wouldn't be a community art project if i did them all :P
Excellent work! I really would love to see more new units. Thumbs up! Keep up the good work :)

How to begin to create new unit from the beginning? All kind of good tutorials would be amazing. I haven't ever done modelling.
I learned 3DSmax through YouTube Tutorials and Google. I find 3DSmax to be a program like Photoshop, its impossible to learn everything the program can offer. But if you can grasp the fundamentals, you can expand and elaborate your knowledge gradually.
My main advice would be to pick an idea, and complete it. you will run into alot of errors, but those errors will help you learn for your next attempt. Its an amazing feeling to have a final piece all your own.
Thanks, I love seeing it being used! your map looks awesome, I tried out Bomberbot on NA and I really like your UI and menu system.
I've attached a version of the model without the "Stand/Walk Start" animation. I can understand how it could get annoying if the unit has to pause every couple seconds, lol.
Death Animations are done as seperate models, these usally have alot of particle emitters for bloodsplatter/explosions/small wreckage. I haven't taken the time to really learn the PEmitter for SC2 but its something I've been meaning to experiment with.
Hey Everyone,
Saw this thread for the Community project (http://www.sc2mapster.com/forums/development/artist-tavern/24475-community-project-2-artwork-thread/?unread) and thought it would be fun to mess around with.

The video you posted apparently contains contents from EMI, who blocked it in Canada.
WTF? Care to reupload without any custom music?
I can't see it too.

This is simply amazing. The worker was one of those designs that was up in the air, and I really do like what you've done for it.

The first project i did was a SC2 starship troopers bug model, over 1 year ago: http://www.sc2mapster.com/forums/development/artist-tavern/4893-starship-troopers-arachnid-model/

This is simply awesome! As one of the "other mappers" I really appreciate this. Thank you for creating it <3
A few questions though:
