Hey guys! So, I've been experimenting with the Protoss textures in photoshop, and the idea came to my mind...Why not re-create the Tempest, seeing as how it should simply be a recolor? Well, I did, and it turned out nice. I based it on the Stalker texture and used a diffuse texture for the Carrier someone had already made, which fit well, since it used the same color.

And guess what? The model looks a thousand times better in this color! :D

Then I noticed how the Void Ray lacked the purple/blue hue the Stalker and Tempest had, and I remembered that they had made the Void Ray simply pure grey instead of the blueish grey of other Dark Templar units & buildings, so I went ahead and edited the diffuse texture for the Void Ray.

I find that the original had way too much of a Terran look to its color...

Explode animation for the Tempest also has the DT color.

Tempest in-game. The yellowish color is not an artifact of the original Carrier texture; It's really just the map lighting (I checked).

Original Void Ray. Notice how its silver metal color completely takes the hue of its surroundings and of the map's light.

Void Ray with new diffuse texture. You can see how it keeps a blue-ish hue, as it should, since the other Dark Templar units/structures also have it.

It's basically a hue change. It's no big deal if you can't see it. But if you don't see this next one, something MUST be wrong with your eyes:

Enhanced Carrier Specular Map, but most importantly, the gold Void Ray, aka the Warp Ray, which is what I was talking about!
