I was wanting to know if anyone has figured this out, I would prefer for it to be done in the Data Editor. The idea is somewhat similar to marines and them getting there shield based off an upgrade, however I would like to add weapons to a model based on which weapon they have on them. Ideally it would also be nice to see if it is possible to add effects to an attached model, such as if my model was shooting to have the muzzle flash appear from the gun that is attached to them since it has an attachment point for it. I am trying to figure this out but I was just wanting to know if anyone else had any ideas.
I am having issues with using Site Operations to attach models together, I am able to get it to attach without any issues however there is some clipping issues and I need to offset it a little and move it back by just a nudge. However when ever I create an offset and use it along side of the one being used to attach it to a hard point with the fact it doesn't want to update the attached model's positioning. It offsets correctly but when the unit starts an idle animation the model doesn't update and it just floats there. The only time it updates is when the unit itself moves, however once the unit stops the model will stop as well and be floating in the air not attached.
Let's see about this...the only dedicated server that GameServers use are there "Dedicated Game Servers" which they clearly state on the website...
"Ventrilo - licenses are not for sale by their respective developers and cannot be hosted on dedicated boxes."
Due to Ventrilo licensing they have to buy a license per computer server, meaning they are using Ventrilo's ability to run multiple processes thus fooling people into thinking there getting a dedicated server. The only way to host Ventrilo on a dedicated server is to purchase your own license which you can only do by filling out the application where you need to meet these three requirements...
1) You must have a legitimate business license in your state, country or jurisdiction. Please be prepared to provide proof when requested.
2) You agree to a 1000 slot minimum. Slot counts greater then 1000 are billed at the per slot rate for the total number of slots hosted. Slot counts below 1000 are billed at the per slot rate with the required minimum of 1000 slots.
3) Licensee's slot counts are expected to grow on a regular basis.
Sixen told me personally that there is no official VOIP, he just added the Ventrilo information to the IRC Sticky because you pmed him asking for it. He also told me he would add my server information also if I posted a thread. As for low latency if you check out the youtube video I posted you will see the difference.
PS: The company you got Ventrilo set up through is notorious for using the Ventrilo's ability to have multiple server programs on a single server computer. You get a dedicated process not a whole server.
Well since I prefer Mumble over Ventrilo I decided to make my own server so people can experience a true VOIP solution. You can get Mumble for Windows/Max OS X at the following website http://mumble.sourceforge.net/ . It is a rather simple installation and setting it up is just as easy, you just need to make sure you create a certification.
The Server information is as follows...
Server: nighthawkhosting.org
Port: 64738
Yes, this server is on a dedicated server that is up 99.99% of the time and isn't shared with any other VOIP Servers. There are a lot of features to Mumble that make the quality so much better then Ventrilo, only to name a few right here...
1) Low Latency! Ventrilo & Teamspeak have a delay between when you talk and when others hear you of about 1-3 seconds, meaning you can start talking when others do without noticing. Mumble has such a low latency it is almost instantaneous.
2) Better Quality, it uses some features of the codecs that Ventrilo & Teamspeak don't use such as background noise cancellation, removing out of hearing frequencies, along with normalization so that no one is loud enough to be unpleasant.
3) Lower Bandwidth, it uses up less bandwidth since it does compression of the audio allowing for more users to be connected and talking at the same time. You can easily have 300-500 people on a Mumble Server with out a single problem.
Also as a bonus I am going to be adding 2 features that will make Mumble stand out further, integrating with SC2Mapster to allow people to use the same username/password on SC2Mapster thus insuring that everyone on the server is either registered or a guest(limited features). Along with notifications of new private messages. If we get thread subscriptions I will be adding that.
PS: There are applications for Android along with the IPhone that are being developed and have working releases.
What I am saying is that setting up a Mumble server would of cost a lot less then renting a Ventrilo server plus it allows for better quality and uses up less bandwidth. Also a vote of 37 people doesn't represent the community at all, this isn't a decision that can be decided in a matter of a day or so by 37 people and expect it to represent everyone. To more accurately represent the community it should of been done along the line of how the contests are done.
Ventrilo sucks and Teamspeak is alright, But you managed to leave out the best software called Mumble. Mumble is open source and you can set up your own servers for free with no restrictions, plus Mumble is updated more often and can be linked with the forums so that there is no registration needed. Plus I think supporting Mumble for something like this falls more into SC2Mapster's ideology.
No League of Legends is being done by some of the original makers of DotA. IceFrog has already confirmed that he is working for Steam on making DotA in there own team. Not sure if he is the leader of the team or not.
I am actually releasing the source code for this project and looking for other people to help develop this application now. If anyone is interested please shoot me a message, the only requirement is that you need to be a decent Java programmer.
Good question, probably due to the fact that the templates on SC2Mapster can only change basic things with the looks and you can't do anything radical with them.
Also, whenever I get the current features and bugs worked out I will be adding features that you won't be able to do at all with just a "template"...
I have released the first update, it doesn't add much but it allows you to somewhat view the Map RSS Feed. For the moment I am trying to work on a way to view forum posts which is more complicated then it seems since I need to parse HTML in such a way where I can have some formatting.
Also it seems there are 58 Active Installs, meaning people are somewhat using it so please post your comments!

What do you mean by host subject? I see a bunch of stuff related to hosting but nothing about a subject.

Well if anyone has any questions on setting up Mumble you can fire away, you can at least try it out and see which one you like better for yourself.

This is my last two cent's on Ventrilo...

Many users who have tried out mumble prefer it over Ventrilo or Teamspeak... (GUI has changed since then) (Latency test for Mumble, Teamspeak, Ventrilo) http://mmo-mumble.com/help/ComparisonChart http://www.wow.com/2010/07/18/ventrilo-vs-mumble/ (Saying the only con is that people aren't use to installing it)

I am just trying to say that I feel this wasn't chosen by the community itself and by a few people that just happened to be on at the time.
