Warcraft Model Library
UPDATE: So for some reason, Sc2Mapster deleted all the mod files. I have recovered them from Battle.net so they SHOULD be up-to-date. I will not be hosting all the files on Sc2Mapter anymore, so I will provide links to download them from Google Drive. Sorry for the inconvenience. Click to Download Mods
How to Use:
- Open up the Sc2 Editor and load your map.
- Once loaded, go to File -> Dependencies and click the button that says: "Add Other".
- A dialog will appear called "Choose Document". Click on the tab that says Battle.net (it's at the top left next to Local Files).
- Make sure you are logged into your Battle.net account (click the log in button). Click on the Source dropdown menu and select Map/Mod Name.
- There will be a search box right next to that. Type in: WC and click "Go".
- Scroll down and select the mod you wish to add and click "OK".
- Repeat these steps if you wish to add more than one mod (yes, you can do that!). After you're done adding mods, click "OK" and it will load the dependencies.
- To use the doodads, go to the doodad pallet and search for (W) to filter all the Warcraft Models.
- If models are too big/small, go into the data editor go to the models tab and search for the model you wish to change (sometimes this is easier by going to the ACTORS tab and then seeing which model is linked to the doodad you're wanting to change). Edit the Art Scale Maximum and Art Scale Minimum (make sure they're the same).

Warcraft Library: General Information
What is Warcraft Model Library?
The Warcraft Model Library is a project with the intent to make creating Warcraft themed maps even easier. This library includes several Mod files that will be uploaded and updated on Battle.net for everyone to use. All you need to do to use these mods is download the mod file and place it in the mods directory in your Starcraft 2 folder (I will put a link or create a tutorial on how to do that later). Currently this library consists of DOODAD models only. However, I hope to add units and tree resource models soon. In addition, myself and a team are currently going through each model and enhancing the detail by adding normal maps.
If you decide to use any of these mods, I only ask that you give proper credits on the loading screen or in the map itself. In addition, anybody can add mod files or update current mod files by using the Warcraft Model Library site set up.
If you have any questions or would like to work with me more closely in making this project more robust, please contact me at [email protected].
Here is the link to and alternate download for the Warcraft Model Library Database: HERE. Note: Not all Mod Files are currently uploaded to Battle.Net. If you would like to help me upload and maintain these mod files, please contact me!

Want to Help?
This project is completely open source. Anyone can use these mods for any project. All I ask is for proper credits somewhere. This also means that anybody can help improve this project! Whether you'd like to help host a mod file, report bugs, update/improve existing mods, or even add your own model libraries to the mix, it is all encouraged. By helping with any of these things, you will receive proper credit and my tanks :)
Currently, we need help hosting all the model libraries. Because of the restrictions Blizzard has created, I alone cannot host every mod file. If you would like to Sponsor a Mod file, you will be given credit in the actual Mod name on Sc2 Mapster or any other Website with the mod.
I also would appreciate feedback on the Libraries themselves. Any activity and posting helps keep this project relevant.
If you would like to help, contact me here or at [email protected]
Downloading the Mods Here
- First, you need to download the mod files either here at Sc2Mapster, or at the alternate site here.
- Go to your downloads folder (or wherever you downloaded the Mods to) and move them to your Sc2 Mod Directory. (This is usually at C:\Program Files\StarCraft II\Mods or C:\Program Files (x86)\StarCraft II\Mods)
In Association with: Warcraft A New Dawn project
If you would like to join and help out with this project as well, please PM me here!
Other Warcraft Resources
Here I will make a list of other resources put together by other people on Sc2Mapster that will assist people in making Warcraft-themed maps! None of these links are my own work. They are made from their respected creators which I will list here. If any of the people responsible for these assets finds this repost intolerable or wrong in any way, please contact me and I will remove your asset from the list. I will never link directly to the actual download, only to the main page of the asset itself. Enjoy!
WoW Model-Pack By Zarakk
Tons and tons of unit models that have working animations and can be used in maps to create Warcraft-like units. I really admire this project and hope to someday improve upon it by making a database mod purely filled with every Warcraft Unit Available!
Warcraft 3 Icons By 7H3LaughingMan
This resource contains all 1,062 Warcraft 3 Icons edited so that it has 100% Integration into Starcraft 2. These icons are from the Warcraft 3 game. I'll try to get a similar asset with WoW icons, or find one that somebody else has done.
Warcraft Footman Model By Triceron
This is a custom Footman Model based on Warcraft 3's Footman from the cinematics. Uses animations from Warcraft 3. Model and Textures created by Triceron. This model is free for public use.
World of Warcraft Weapon Pack By Malpheus
WOW Weapon Model Packs for your use. This is approximately 10% of the models exported at SC2EAGLE, I will add as I get around to it. Credit to Shock for doing all the work.
I'm sorry for the inconvenience guys! I stopped Sc2 modding a while ago and did not realize that my files had been taken down until recently when I happened to check my PMs on Sc2Mapster. I have re-uploaded what files I could recover to a Google Drive account where they should be safe from random take-downs.

Yeah errors, well at least some of the versions can be found on the link provided below by

I'm in North America and i got a Error too, I believe 404 Error, it said the item might have been taken down or temporarily removed, and also Canada counts as North America
cannot download, 404 error, im in canada, maybe thats why?
@Countbuffalo: Go
Nevermind, i managed to fix the whole situation by redownloading the files, guess they didn't download correctly the first time, is there anywhere i may obtain some more Warcraft'y tilesets?
What is the purpose of the downloadable mods? I downloaded all of them and placed them in my Starcraft 2 mod folder, however, any attempt to use them as a dependency results in the editor giving me a message saying 'Core: path is not an archive' for all of them, even the ones that are uploaded on battle.net as well. Its very frustrating as it impedes my efforts to make a private Warcraft IV.
TL:DR: Does anyone have a fix to ensure that the mod files downloaded from this page work successfully?

As long as somebody uploads the mod to other servers (and doesn't change the name) you should still be able to see them. However I agree that they should be kept here if people want to edit them offline since this is 100% open source.
@Terminator8: Go
You should still upload them here incase people want to make changes offline and for those without access to NA servers.
Hey guys!! I think the mods are working now! I know how to use these mods, and I don't think you even need to download them from Sc2Mapster. I'll still keep these mods updated for people who want to download them from here (not sure why but you never know). I'll update/make a tutorial on what I've found.
@JaakkoAA: Go
Unfortunately I cannot confirm that the EU mods are up. I'm on the US side, so I can't host them on EU :(
@Terminator8: Go Oh that is great news that with mods maps could have unlimited usage of files. I'm currently using Forest Library, Mists of Pandaria Library, Northrend Library and Trisfall Ghostlands Library but I will propably check the other mods later for more models like ashenvale foliage or barrens buildings.
When I try to publish my map with the mods from my Starcraft II\Mods\ folder I get an error message for all four of them saying "document dependency does not specify a battle.net file" and I'm unable to continue. I'm in EU server so I thought Trisfall Ghostlands would have worked at least.
@JaakkoAA: Go
I would highly suggest just using the mods with the models that you want instead of trying to only import the models you think you may use. You can have more than one mod dependency, and it's easier to just use the entire mod. The mods will only load the models you need when you play your game.
What mods are you using? I'll make an effort to go through a bunch of mods and fix missing models/incorrect file paths (as that's the main reason for the sphere models showing up).
As for the stairs and bridges getting pathing, I'd love to add it, but I honestly don't know how... if I could figure out how, I'll add it :)
As for the BNet issue, I don't believe it's working properly. You can't see any mods from the Sc2 Editor. Just download the mods here and add the dependencies as a local resource. When you upload your map, it should find the mods online. Please don't re-upload the mods unless you've made specific changes to the mods that are specific for your map only (which is highly unlikely, because you can make those changes from within your own map anyway). The nice thing about this system is that theoretically, you can use all of these mod files without having to take your own upload limits. Think of it as me and others sacrificing our own upload space so that everyone else can use them for free :)
If you still have problems with your map not loading the online mods, please contact me and I'll try to work with you to figure it out. This is all still new territory for (and most I believe) so it may take some testing and whatnot.
@Terminator8: Go Thanks for the answer.
I'm still figuring out my environment a little so I don't know yet how many models of what mods I will use so after that I'll download this model viewer you mentioned and put them all together in one personal mod, so the model viewer method sounds fast enough for me.
My map will work fine without the lighting and water models so for me it's not such a big deal if they can't be fixed but good luck anyway.
Also I noticed that in some mods a few models won't load correctly in the editor and it gives just that ball.
Are the stairs and bridges for example going to have pathing for ground units someday?
For some reason I couldn't find the mods uploaded in b.net in fact my editor couldn't find any uploaded mods at all so I uploaded them myself. What if I used the online mods would they still take my own map/b.net upload limit?
@JaakkoAA: Go Hey thanks for the feedback! As for your question, there isn't a super easy answer (that I know of anyway). I can offer two things:
I'm sorry that it's difficult to figure out which model requires which textures, but they all needed to be in the root folder and Sc2 doesn't show the texture paths (that I know of anyway). If there is a better way I'd be happy to know. In the mean time I'll try to make a list of the models and which textures they used. (I'll put it up here somewhere).
I will take a look at the Twilight Overhang model problem.
Unfortunately lighting and water effects don't export properly; some models will have problems. I'll try to fix them but don;t get your hopes up, sorry.
I'll take a look at the Short Flag. I may just have to re-import it in.
This is the best custom doodad content out there for sc2.
I have one small question though, if I want to use just a few models from a certain mod then what would be the way to detect what skins I need to copy along with that model? Thanks.
And I have a few comments about the mods:
1) TwilightOverhang model crashes the editor if you try to select it from doodad palette.
2) Some light and water effects aren't working.
3) PandarenShortFlag, how does it work? I placed it but the animation works totally randomly and most of the time the flag is in the air not moving at all. I don't know how to find doodad animations and their names so that I could possibly cast them with triggers.
Just a heads up guys, I'm still updating these and a new HUGE update that includes almost every single Mists of Pandaria model will follow in the next couple of days, also I am officially out of room on my upload space for Battle.Net. I will start contacting the people who offered to host a mod soon.
Thank you so much for your guys' support and interest. Help spread the word if you like this project!
@Terminator8: Go
Yea that would be mroe then great.
@JacktheArcher: Go
I could probably do that... although there are sooooo many models I probably can't do it individually
Would a couple pictures of each mod with all the doodads in them suffice?
