Vexal Tower Defense
Update coming in the future.
Tower Defense.
Featuring:
- 43 levels, including bosses with special abilities unheard of in a WC3 Tower Defense.
- Some levels have special abilities, again, which were unheard of in WC3.
- Unique towers which were not possible with the WC3 editor, such as towers with the Carrier's Hangar ability, upscaled to store an unlimited number of a variety of powerful units, or Sunken's ability to stack and uproot towers.
- Two unique races, Humanoid and Sunken. Sunken is currently a work-in-progress. The races are polar opposites in terms of play-style.
- Hero-Towers. Hero-Towers gain experience and level with kills, and are allowed to choose their own distribution of skill points, as well as purchase powerful weapons to equip.
- Three modes of play: Full Team, Left vs Right, and Solo. More modes are currently in the works.
- Intense difficulty. You will not win your first try. You will not win your second try. You will need a full team of coordinated players to make it halfway through my game.

Some notes:
- I usually am not able to actually test versions of my map privately. Due to the nature of Battle.net 2.0, in order to originally test this map, I had no choice but to upload it publicly in its half-finished form. It is still unfinished. Every so often (as in, every few hours, a few times a day), I upload a new version with a small addition (such as a new tower, unit, ability, or balance change). If I were able to complete this map in privacy before uploading it, I would. However, due to the fact that the maximum party size is 6, and this is a 10 player map, it is almost impossible for me to organize a full private game. I apologize if a version is uploaded with game-breaking bugs.

I have uploaded a map with the triggers and object data in my TD.
This file contains all of the triggers and data for my tower defense. Feel free to open and examine these. You may take any part of this map's triggers. You may reuse any of my methods for creating an object. However, I request that you not use any of the ideas contained in this map. You may use any piece of an object's data to learn how to apply a similar function to your own object. You may not copy the idea of the object itself.
If you wish to build your map ON TOP of this one, please contact me first. I will not forbid such action, but I have disabled certain function to prevent such from happening without studying the map. I did so because I am uploading this with the intention that people will use this map as a tool to answer specific questions, ie "how do I make a hero" "how do I make a tower launch units" etc.
I do not request credit on maps where parts of my map are used. I DO request that you contact me if this upload was helpful, and let me know exactly how it was so. So that I may keep track of whether this is useful to anyone.

I suggest making it more obvious where the waves go. On my first time playing i place lots of unnecessary towers and lost because of it.
no, I saw the pulse rifle fire and kill my worker, and btw, I was sunken. No bunkers.
Last time I checked, the builder wasn't attackable with any weapon. You sure you just didn't stick him in a bunker somewhere? (IMO remove garrisonable ability of worker).
are there any changes upcoming?
or at least a new release to fix current bugs?
oh, and something you may want to be aware of, It is possible to one shot your worker. I was talking to the other people in the game, and at some point hit A while I wasn't in the chat box, I then proceeded to click on my builder because I wanted to build something. I had my hero selected when I had hit A. One shot with his pulse rifle killed my worker. Either make them indestructable like the building on the side, or make it so they can be remade, for free, but have a limit of one at a time.
It's just a building with the nydus worm model. As for the units, he is correct in that it uses the hangar ability. I believe there is a field called info+ which contains fields to select which units can be trained. As for showing the damage icon on the nydus worm itself, I created a dummy weapon for each unit.
it just a Nydus worm merged with the Carrier (protoss), allowing the Nydus work to act like a hanger, using the hanger ability.
I tried figuring it out from just the map, but I'm failing miserably. How did you get the warren to spawn multiple types of interceptors and store them all? I can't make it work.
I think the bosses shield need to be lower for solo mode, you get less money but u are still required to take out 100k shields...not very reasonable...
Sent you a saved replay via email of that new blocking bug for top position players.
And would definately like to bump on the idea of fixing players from other teams... taking control of left players scv's, and building stuff to block or attack the other team with.... Quite annoying... The selling of buildings is just one of those unfair things that happens, but you can recover. Can't recover from someone sneaking a bunker into the path next to your gamma's/ion's during the medic wave.... its just straight devastation.
Iamtheomen: Teamwork isn't really required for final bosses, just requires 3 ion cannons.
Pretty much from the time the first player can rush to get the first gamma, and then bulldoze everything else, and build a second one, is pretty much game over. I can usually get them pretty quick (especially in front row), and drop 2 at the back, and have 1 upgraded to ion cannon, before the motherships arrive. At that stage, only takes 1-2 shots from each gamma to kill everything in the waves at time, and can be pretty much solo'd at that point (Teamwork actually makes it more difficult, because the minerals overall are only being put to 50% effective usage when put on just 1 column of incoming adds, placing at goalie spot ensures 100% effectiveness).
O Vex, there seems to be an issue with the pathing for the north east most players spot.... It can be blocked without units turning hostile.... (they just pack in nice and tight for AoE). I'll see if i can get you a replay of that to see for yourself. Seems to happen when they block a path off with a hero... as normal bunkers/ect just turn them hostile.
O, and player griefing with left players SCV's, is getting completely out of control... Seems like 3:5 games, are completely ruined with someone blocking a path with a left players SCV, or building something to attack the other teams buildings with that SCV...

Oh, I know what triggers that bug. Let me see if I can make a small adjustment to fix it..
also found out the hard way Griefing is still possible, sniper can still attack outside bunkers.
and hence can attack anything.
That is a bug. Heroes level to 21 because the average level reached is around so. However, I suppose in single player, you will probably get two or three times that.
I'll look at 41's bounty. I've noticed the icon problem as well. They also just float.
Bit a bug not sure if it is intentional or not but seen it a few times now and forgot to post.
Level 41 Demons - have no minimap icon and do not give minerals.
also hero's only level to 21? and start location 001 and 006 gain far more exp for the hero's then all other lanes.
Sunken can not handle endgame Air in anyway, hoping they get something nice to help out
Changes you made to apoc was nice, except maybe i think you should require a tempest upgrade instead of going tesla/fusion, personally i feel the damage on the fusion is really low unless you rush it first, but there is no reason to since the Higgs does not require it.
Changes to requirements in the higgs is great as well.
Made it to level 37 with a complete noob being last defender, and 2 leavers midway through on LvR.
Queen fed me minerals after the mothership to get an apoc for the panthers and she managed to even get a erad to take down the panthers with zero leaks which was refreshing.
All in all i enjoy the map still, though after playing it so many times it is a little boring in terms of you do the same thing every game for the best results and hope that your team knows how to play.
But by far the best TD out there.

Understanding which weapons work on bosses also helps.
I have a replay where we took BOTH lv43 bosses down. (we had to cuz we only had -1life left lol)
You have to locate your units in the proper position to do so. Team work is also a must.
EDIT : Just downed BOTH lv43 bosses in INSANE INSANE (AKA double insane) difficulty. (most people won't last thru the first 12 waves) Had great team work and everyone in the team knew how to play(and how to exploit lol)
So, are the level 43 boss going to remain as is? I just had a very good group go through, and we couldn't get its shielding down at all, it regened right away.
