What is the enhancement in mind? How should it look and feel?
Please provide any additional information below.
Add a "score", that determines how well you have played.it should be composed of the following points:
1. lifes lost until wave 50:
lifeloss can be a fixed value (for example 10000 points with 20 life left after wave 50 is defeated and -500 points for every life lost)
the other points should be based on the difficulty setting, to measure an overall scoring that can be compared to other players scores regardless on what difficulty level was played.
2. total minerals accumulated:
the mineralscore could equal the worthscore and be adjusted for higher difficulties than very easy with a second interest counter, that won't be displayed and counts the interest with the very easy %-setting, then this value is added to the score instead. the only drawback here would be, that on easier levels you can gather more minerals and get a bigger interest income in general, resulting in a higher score. maybe a divisor could even this out.
3. how many mobs were killed including spawnlings:
the mobs killed on the other hand give a fixed value + or - the percentage of the hp buff or nerf for the mobs of the played difficulty to give higher scorevalues to killed mobs on harder levels. killed spawnlings should maybe add a bonusvalue for each difficulty for balancing the fact that easier levels can achieve higher spawnling kills/rates because of more towers present.
4. how much damage was dealt in total:
the damage dealt in total is probably a very large number and can again be lowered by a certain divisor. the divisor is also based on the difficulty setting. for example, if 500.000.000 damagepoints were dealt (i just picked a number here.) very easy players get a divisor of 50.000, and get a value of 10.000 scorepoints added. easy players damage get a divisor of 40.000 (=12.500) and so on to very hard with a divisor of 10.000 (=50.000 scorepoints).
every listed point above should give a different amount of score which will be added up after the player is defeated and then a dialog box could show the ending score with a OK button, so that the player knows the game has ended and how good he was. this number can then be compared with other players.
there should be a pretty balanced scorenumber for every difficulty with these suggestions. it should be made so, that when beating the game, one can never reach a score on a lower difficulty setting which exceeds the score for beating a higher difficulty setting.
if all those suggestions cause too much time and/or trouble, you could also just take fixed scores for mins/mobs/damage on every difficulty setting and add another fixed value for the difficulty itself, that ensures the balance. but the first choice would give a more balanced score in my opinion.
