Changelog

v0.5.0

Notes

Welcome to the first official BETA release! The name of the map has been changed to Crossfire Frenzy (I never liked the old name). Aside from this, the beta stage is being ushered in with a slew of new features. A new hero has been added, as well as over half a dozen new mercenaries, including all-new higher-tier "special forces" mercs made for the mid-to-late game as well as three racial-unique mercs, each of which provides a unique bonus for units and mercs of its respective race. Various small balance changes and some important bug fixes have also been implemented.

Throughout the beta stage more balance changes will be made as needed, and of course new heroes, items, and mercs will be added regularly.

New Features

  • Added a new hero: Mohandar.
  • Added new mercenaries:
    • Hercules
    • Hel's Angel
    • Brood Lord
    • Science Vessel
    • Stone Zealot
    • Mothership
    • Raven Scavenging Drone
    • Shield Prism
    • Queen

Gameplay Changes

General
  • Set default game speed to "Faster" and unlocked the option.
  • Heroes are now recruited from the Nexus, a separate structure near your main base. Heroes are still revived through your main base.
  • You may now queue the revival of up to two heroes at once. If you have more than two dead heroes at any one time, you will have to revive the heroes that died first before you can revive the ones that died later.
  • The Xel'Naga Obeslisk's Energy Regeneration Bonus radius has been reduced to 8 [was 10].
  • Increased the cost of Motion Amplifiers to 750 minerals [was 500 minerals].
  • Normalized the shield regeneration rates of all units with shields (not including heroes) so that it takes 60 seconds to fully regenerate their shields.
Heroes
  • Added four quickslots to hero inventories. Miscellaneous-type items may be placed there and used on-demand with hotkeys.
  • Reduced the size of the storage inventory to 6 [was 10].
  • The Willpower and Vigor attributes no longer grant bonuses to energy regeneration.
  • All hero ability trees now have linked cooldowns. For example, if Raynor uses Raiders' March, and then upgrades it to Raiders' Charge before the cooldown on Raiders' March ends, the remainder of the cooldown will be applied to Raiders' Charge.
  • Reduced the energy cost of the Void Dance tree to 80 [was 100] and cooldown to 6 seconds [was 8 seconds].
Mercs
  • Decreased experience bounty of Banelings to 20 [was 30].
Terran
  • The Thor's Mjollnir Autocannons can no longer target structures.
  • Increased the cost of the Immortality Protocol upgrade to 2500 minerals/1200 vespene [was 2000/1000].
Zerg
  • Increased movement speed of Roaches to 2.5 [was 2.25].

UI Changes

  • Command card buttons will now clearly state if an ability is channeling or passive (including the learn ability buttons on heroes).

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed exploit where you could collect vespene by killing your own heroes and those of your allies.
  • Fixed leveling requirement bugs with:
    • Energy Burn
    • Universal Vision
    • Unwavering Aegis
    • Executor's Orison
  • The Thor's air attack correctly no longer deals +4 damage vs. Light.
  • Decreased armor of Spawning Pool to 6 as intended. -Venomous Spines no longer applies the slowing buff to structures.
  • Fixed bug where the Hydralisk's Bone Scythes melee attack was doing +150% damage vs. Biological instead of +50% damage vs. Biological.

Crossfire Frenzy Known Issues

v0.5.0

  • When your hero dies, you may find that inventory items have shifted position after revival. In the past, this was due to the workaround for the bug that items always dropped on death. Blizzard has since fixed that bug, but in doing so, they have introduced yet another bug with reviving heroes with items, so I have chosen to leave in a tweaked version of the old workaround, which fixes the new bug.
  • When researching certain upgrades, the icon that appears in the research queue is the "Cancel" icon instead of the upgrade's actual icon. This is a purely UI bug and has no adverse effect on the upgrade itself.

Important Any saved changes to this uploaded file will render the map unplayable. This is not some map protection scheme. It is simply because the map uses a customized MapScript.galaxy file that WILL be overwritten if the map is saved in the editor.
