How to play
Before you play, you need to download the maps AND version 4.1 of the sc1mod. Put this file in the "Mods" folder of your main Starcraft II folder. If you launch the map 1 and lose the game almost immediately, the mod file is not at its proper place.
Thanks to Superfield for his mod work and TheTorrasque for some of the maps.
To launch a map, drop it on your Starcraft II.exe shortcut, or open it with editor and choose Test Document (ctrl F9).

When waiting Russian translation maps?
Theres no Artanis, yet it says he dies when one of my dragoons die, but I can't tell which ones him, can't you make an Artanis in the editor? Or at least change his color?
Some more bugs/quirks about feedback. Firstly, feedback seems to instagib HTs regardless of their energy. I casted feedback on a full hp HT who stormed 3 times (25+ energy left) and it died. Also, in mission 7, if feedback is cast on a hallucinated Aldaris, it receives 250 damage (shouldn't this be 500?) and doesn't die. If the real one is feedbacked, it "dies" immediately and triggers the cutscene.

Unfortunately, mind control is not fixed yet. It is probably easy to do for someone familiar with the mod, but I'm not, I only work on the maps. But it won't be long.
There are separate supplies in mission 8 for zerg and protoss units, just like in mission 6 (it is only visible once you mind control a zerg).

What caused the "creep-kill" bug also caused the spawn of the extra cerebrates. It was a flaw in one of the triggers, easy to fix but it led to strange behaviours, as you've seen.

((Long story short, Thank you for helping me play Starcraft, a game that Ive owned for awhile now and was incompatible with my modern computer))

Back in 1998 (and I was a wee 8 year old boy) my father picked up Starcraft to play, he enjoyed it alot but i wasnt allowed to play it until I was 10 and by then he had lost his cd copy.
Fast forward to a couple of years ago, feeling a Starcraft Itch I picked up SC2 and was blown away by the campaign. As a result of this I picked up a copy of Starcraft the next day.
Suffice to say, migrating from SC2 to vanella SC/Broodwar was harder than it was supposed to be, heck my computer didnt even run it much without crashing from compatibility errors, leaving me only 3 levels into the Terran campaign and with a near useless CD.
Now, two years later, having forgotten most of SC2's campain, I come across this mod while replaying SC2, and cannot thank you enough for contributing to a long time SC2 fan's dream of being able to finally play the original Starcraft. I might be unique among people here, but I finally get to enjoy SC for the first time today.
And I feel good about that original Starcraft box and CD case, of which I have put a disk of your maps into right where it belongs.

Thanks for the compliment =) I restarted the mission and was killing time after restarting the mission. Also, the guy above me found another weird one too. So strange.
Tomorrow I'll test the updated version. Argh! I hope dark archon mind control will be fixed....my favourite SC unit! Saved my butt plenty of times, stealing archons, carriers and arbiters in mission 7 and stealing drones to build zerg units in mission 8 is priceless. Uh, talking about stealing zerg units, in mission 8 I suggest to add different supplies like in Protoss mission 10 when you mind control a drone (In original Brood War you had the chance to have a zerg base in last mission, used plenty of times to build tons of spore colonies, devourers and lurkers to protect the temple)
Another bug for Mission 3: I built a pylon at the north choke (towards base that is taken by corsairs/shuttles) and 2 extra cerebrates spawned in my base. Other than that and the mind control bug which has already been reported, I've had no trouble.
Also, for Mission 6, defiler mound shouldn't be there, and at any rate you can't tech to hive so it's not get-able.

Wow... Thanks for the report, bonus points for finding the weirdest bug ever in our remakes :D
Bug observed: in mission 3, if you immediately take the DTs, move northwest and kill one of the critters, you trigger the cutscene where Kerrigan meets Zeratul and Aldaris. Then they stand there and have a staring contest.
Mission 8:Devourer plating icon show the same of zero armor upgrade also if devourer have 3 armor upgrade
For the mission 5 if u tell me that easy mode is equal to the BW mission i have no problem :) PS:I forget the mission with that final BC battle :D For mission 6 i tryed on easy and i can tell u that u need a lot of reaver to survive,mass cannon it's not enough with all this ling/ultra/hydra,and also with carrier mass is not so easy,there are 9999 spore crawler that wait you ♥ On hard the wave are still more powerful,and u have no time to mass carrier,the wave from left have also mass mutalisks,i never do it on hard completely because i quitted mission because i couldn't do carrier :D But i think that the only think to win without some carrier that go (after a lot of time) to the young overmind is to mass archon and reaver with some hydralisks,i Think that could another solution to do it Hard but with carrier,for example u could put 10 or more devourers to counter eventually early carrier ;p For mission 7 i didn't tell u that mind control of Dark Archon don't Work,if u see enemy's archon u will see the Hive Emulator icon on red,but they remain on enemy's control D: The only problem with the zerg ally is that probes can't gather resources to the zerg hatchery and drones can't gather to the nexus :( Ok white fading is more similar to the cutscene of BW,but the atrifaca nova personally is better for a in-game cutscene,with that u can see all zerg units explode as in WoL Mission "All in",i don't see any unit zerg/protoss on cutscene (i see only zeratul and artanis templar),so i try to download the mod from sc2mapster now,for the sound the yamato sound looks bad but i don't know if artifact nova has an own sound.
These portraits http://www.sc2mapster.com/assets/dark-protoss/images/38-dark-protoss-portraits/ will look good if one day Enslavers 2 will be ported to SC2, they would fit perfectly for the Fist of Ulrezaj organization

Really a good campaign,but there are som bugs,and personally some terrible choiches for the hard mode,i will show you on this "The Stand" feedback. Why can i use Raynor for 2-3 seconds?? On all campaign a lot of original sounds and quotes are the ones from sc2 and not form sc1 Mission 2:No reaver on original mission. No dark archon upgrades on original mission Mission 3:U put sc2 Shield cost instead of the sc1 BW cost Why can i hear Selendis says (ITA Version) "una breccia nella sicurezza siamo spacciati"? What do u think about use these portraits for Praetor Artanis and Raszagal? http://www.sc2mapster.com/assets/dark-protoss/images/38-dark-protoss-portraits/ Why there isn't hard difficulty for mission 1-2 and 3 ? Why Raszagal use Selendis portrait for the briefing and Nyon/Tal'Darim Executor portrait for dialogues on the missions? Zeratul continue to say me that is sending me reinforcements also when i win :/ Mission 6:Why zerg only allies?Probably is a problem with double supply cap for a single player,but so is still good ;p WTF u delete carrier for increasing difficulty,cutting my forces to increase the difficulty (i repeat) is a BAD IDEA,there is already 2 contemporaneous waves that attack me,and also i can't build carrier???LOL.My suggestion is to don't remove carrier,because i just need of a lot of reavers only to survive,and also because carrier on sc1 bw was the key of this mission,if u want u can add some mutas/devourers to the waves M7)When u destroy allucinations Aldaris say alwais the same thing. This is after the geyser is depleted, I think is done to replicate in the best way as possible the SC1 effect (once the geyser is depleted in SC1, you can still extract gas, and is unlimited, but the quantity harvested is much lower)
Strange, coulda sworn I posted the bug I found on here, but don't see it. Might have posted it on some other map by mistake lol, anyways, a bug I've been finding is that when a geyser hits 0 vespene gas, it jumps back up to 100,000. Not sure if that was intended?
