First of all, huge thanks to Ultraling and Maverck for having done most of the work and making this campaign possible. Both of them were awesome about letting me use their stuff to put this thing together. These are originally Ultraling's maps, found here in sc2mapster. I picked them up a long time ago and slowly worked on them, editing terrain, adding all kinds of flavor here and there, including Maverck's Brood War mod, and this is the result.
Features
- all 10 original missions + the tutorial
- original SC1 units and structures with original stats, including custom models
- original SC1 Terran soundtrack
- all the dialogue, voice acting & other miscellaneous text from the original campaign
- classic unit decals, such as Alpha Squadron, Sons of Korhal etc.
"Artistic License"
(some notable differences from the original campaign)
- Medics - to balance out the units Brood War style, and to provide more options to the player
- extra "hero" abilities: Kerrigan has the snipe ability, Raynor can replenish Spider Mines
- Mission 4 "The Jacobs Installation" - third person mode (optional)
- two difficulty levels - with a somewhat more aggressive AI than in the original, in order to provide some challenge to the average player

How to play
- extract the mod file (SC1BWmod) to your "Mods" folder in your Starcraft 2 install directory (NOT the folder under "My Documents")
- extract the map pack to the "Maps" folder in your Starcraft 2 install directory (create the folder if it doesn't exist)
- extract the Campaign Launcher & setup to the same "Maps" folder (not the campaign folder)
Campaign Launcher installation:
- launch the Starcraft 2 editor
- open the setup map named SCMRsetup in your Maps folder and click the "test document" button on the top right (or press ctrl+F9)
- wait until the launcher loads and you're at the title screen, then save the game and exit the map (press esc or F10 to open the game menu)
- find the save file (named "Starcraft - Mass Recall" by default) in (your home/documents folder)/Starcraft II/Saves/VersusAI
- copy or move the save file to the saves folder under your account folder (your home/documents folder)/Starcraft II/Accounts/.../.../Saves/Multiplayer (for example; any of the save folders will do)
- Done! You can now log into the appropriate account and load the save from the load game-screen. You can use this save to play each episode.
more info:
- You can copy the save file to whatever accounts you want. For example, if you want to play offline, copy it to your guest account folder.
- If you're unsure of the right folders or can't find the Starcraft II documents folder, log into an account of your choice in SC2, go to the load game-screen, click on a save and click the "show in folder"-button. It will take you to the appropriate saves folder.

Было бы просто волшебно сделать отдельно русскую версию с оригинальной озвучкой, от этих переводов из девяностых кровь идет из ушей.
@SerHares: Go
We shall see. It's actually been done - by Xan0, two years ago. It's right here.
@SerHares: Go
That episode is already included...
Will you make the episode 0? (Episode 0 is demo-campaign by Blizzards, in which player first time see zergs - xenomorphs.)
In a bit of a hurry, so I'll make this short: Zarxiel & friends have implemented the Italian translation and voice acting to the campaigns, for all you Italian speakers out there. They've also made a fair amount of small changes to the Italian version, see this thread for details. First two episodes now available in Italian. Enjoy!
GOOD, now my version italian too^^
Boot Camp works well(i hear different music and buildings don't rotate when lifted of so i suppose that mod works) but when i try to start other missions, i just get unable to load map.
1. What about cinematic video, can you add it to maps?
2. Some models still dont looks like original BW.

"I'm not sure it would have been more interesting in RTS."
That's what I said! The indoor levels with a set amount of units are kind of shallow and uninteresting, gameplay-wise. Starcraft's mechanics weren't meant for those.
As for the final room, sometimes it's good to not try to be the hero they're making Raynor out to be, and just back off and let your buddies take the heat for a bit.
Hmm... I was really liking the way level 4 was done up until the point where I died 20 minutes in and had to restart.
edit: Wasn't cautious enough on final room. It's pretty easy to get rushed when they swarm you as you enter. Dunno if there's a way of fixing this, maybe chucking the player a health thing just before that room? Either way, still a nice idea to shake up the original campaign with FPS. I'm not sure it would have been more interesting in RTS.
paul & madragon:
Uh, did you guys just click the "download" button in the top right? It takes you to the latest uploaded file, which currently is the latest Russian version. Here's the file you want, same as the link above under "downloads".
And Paul, nope, none of those things should have anything to do with the problem. :p
Phry:
Glad you like it. And yeah, that's been waiting for a fix for some time now. The issue should appear only on that particular map.
Pretty amazing mod to be fair. Loving it so far, it was easy to install, instructions were succinct - was confused slightly by the 'drag map onto .exe' but it worked so no complaints. Overall, pretty awesome mod, and it's good to see it's still being supported.
I did want to say however, in the second mission I believe, some of the zerg units were appearing as large dome-shapes without textures. I don't think that's supposed to happen.
Having trouble getting the mod to work in English too.. I dropped (version 3.3) right into my mods folder.. but it doesn't seem like it wants to work. I tried dropping the map file onto sc.exe AND opening it in the map editor, same result both times: Russian.
Now don't get me wrong.. Russian is a pretty bad ass language and all.. but seeing how I don't speak it, it takes away some from the experience of the original starcraft :P
Maybe it's also worth noting bnet is down currently and I'm doing this all without sc2 being connected to the internet, but I still get the feeling it should pull the mod file. does it need to be in a special folder within the mod folder?
One last thought before i go to lurk comments (and duh, I'll post my solution if I find one.) my windows 7 saves my games and applications in "program files (x86)" is it possible the fact my directory being titled (x86) is throwing a wrench in the whole thing?
Where can i find the english version?
cause for some reason i get the russian one.
Why is the map in some weird language i did not download the russia or french mod so wtf ?
help plz
Русская озвучка такая плохая, сделанна в "пацанском стиле" и стекстом не совпадает. У 7Х же нормальная была, взяли бы лучше ее.
Heads up: 5th episode (UED campaign) coming out very soon. Next week, most likely. Stay tuned.
New French and Russian mod versions are out, courtesy of Choum28 and Jimm3110, respectively.
padohva:
The Infested Terran problem is a global issue, that is, doesn't have to do with localization. I don't know when the next update will happen, but it'll fix it.
Cloak - That's strange... you should be able to research it, from the Starport Control Tower?
DanyBoy:
No, you're not. And, maybe I will. Someday. Should be a relatively quick task, but it's still a pretty low priority for me.
Do you intend on creating a "classic" version for mission 4 ? I'm probably not the only one who feel that a shooter map is out of place in a remake of Starcraft.
Hey, just read the changes on 1.05 xD, so I guess the upgrades and the academy aren't supposed to be there. One doubt I had was the fact that in the first mission you meet with Kerrigan, you can't research cloack, therefore you can't cloak your wraiths, was it supposed to be that way? Then again, great work guys, having loads of fun. Thanks.
