The New Syndicate Episode 1: The Fortress
'The Fortress' is the first episode in a series of four maps, together creating the story of 'The New Syndicate'.
'The Fortress' is pretty much what you'd expect from a campaign map, with some new ideas and a fairly written story. The first episode is a sort of introduction, thus not much of the storyline is revealed as of yet. The following episodes will be uploaded as soon as I finish creating them.
Enjoy!
So I built my twelve battlecrusers, and won. I spent all that time waiting for them to build, just to finish the game?
IMO, the game needs to have a big difficulty increase, and please add a final objective that is to be completed with the aid of the battlecruisers.
Anyway, the first objective should be "Protect the fortress from enemy attacks", and the second one is "Produce 12 Battle Cruisers".
And then I guess story and dialog text is also missing :(
It's okay. So I see that it's a localization issue. I will just edit the strings so they show up in-game. I'll give the scenario another run later and see if it works. ;)
Edit: Oh man, forget editing the strings. Everything is blank. :/
"Param/Value/2A81F091" ? Ouch, that's unwanted. Your aim is to construct 12 BattleCruisers, while protecting your base. It seems Blizzard really has to work on making US and EU versions of StarCraft II compatible with each other (at least that's my guess), because I have the same issue with some maps.
Also, this map is fairly easy, seeing that it's the first episode out of four. It's really bad that it did not work for you as it should :(
I dunno. I was just sitting there waiting for the waves and there didn't seem to be an end, so I just dropped out. The Ghosts with the Purifier Beams are pretty cool but they don't get to see much utility when the waves spawn so far apart. In the end I just shot them dead. Their buildings too.
Also, the objectives show up as "Param/Value/2A81F091" and stuff. I was confused about what to do so I just built stuff. Lots of stuff. The Zerg waves that did come didn't stand a chance against my huge MMM ball that costs 200 supply to keep fed at night waiting for another wave.
Overall, you have the player sitting on a tiny map all by their lonesome self and there's nothing noteworthy to explore (aside from the Ghosts), no bases to destroy, no expansions to take, no timer, nothing to do but wait. You do not want to do this to the player of your map. Hopefully it'll be much more fun after a few updates. ;)
