Hand of Humanity (Campaign project)
This project will be merged to Resource Curse project.
Hand of Humanity contains Terran campaign with 28 missions and Zerg campaign with 17 missions.
Hand of Humanity mod changes Starcraft II core mechanics and offers huge amount of customized, buildable units for Terran and Zerg.
Games that have inspired me as mapmaker are Warcraft II (1995) and Command & Conquer: Red Alert (1996). My ambitious goal is to create long campaign that combines best elements of 1990s singleplayer RTS games.
How to play?
Singleplayer campaigns require some file management to make it work properly. You have to extract a zip file, find and create folders.
1. Download Hand_of_Humanity.zip. You find it from "Files" section at top part of this page.
2. Extract .zip file and place files like this:
Startcraft II\Maps\Hand of Humanity\Launcher Zerg.SC2Map
Starcraft II\Mods\HandOfHumanityMOD.SC2Mod
3. Open "Launcher Terran" or "Launcher Zerg" map in Starcraft2 editor and press "Test document" button.
I can not start it, I get a message can not open the map !! You can help me ..a Once inside selection missions, does not load the map .. error
I have uploaded new version of the campaign. (File is waiting for approval at time of posting)
Most important changes:
- All Terran & Zerg buttons and unit information texts fixed
- All Zerg units modified
- Many new Zerg units from HotS / LotV added.
- Zerg uses QWER style hotkeys
- New mission, Mission17 (You play as Zerg)
- You can now build Sandbags! (Thanks to JayborinoPlays for the idea)
- Light and Armored attributes removed from units. Some units have bonus damage against biological or mechanical units.

thx for the fast reply. I appreciate your time and energy. I am using US keyboard, I play starcraft with customized hotkeys based on Standard. The Grid system is great for playthrough but i prefer my modified Standard because it is more ergonomic.
I've played through a few mission
1 Destroy vespense pump creative idea for a tutorial but bad for a custom campaign 2 Gather while fending off terrorist cliche' the vehicle that is used to store infantry has little use 3 Use SCV to get Resource Vehicle creative 4 Destroy the Facility cliche I think mission 2 3 should be combined together for a more interesting mission Choice = Expand to Gather or Mobile to Capture or a mixed strat is much more fun
5 My Favorite Mission so far! I love shooting the explosives. I feel that the hero and 2 medics are strong, the infantry just dye without doing much. The mission should be played as a 2 to 4 heroes mission instead. Blizzard have a lot of cool game play stuffs for Micro missions, it would be wonderful if you add them for variety.
6 cliche 7 Yuti infesting HotS have many infestation already, game play is slow and does not spreading like a disease feeling 8 I much prefer Outbreak game play 9 fighting through the zerg base to destroy Refinery: luring the Zerg is a better alternative 10 destroy Infest pit with Fire Weapon nice idea
I think you have many interesting ideas, but they are all spread too thin :)

I am not sure does does that hotkey problem have something to do with your region? I am from Europe and I am using scandinavian keyboard. One way to make sure hotkeys work is to set hotkeys to "Grid" from menu. If you have played Dota2 then you know kind of hotkey system I am trying to build for my mod.
Command Center SCV build cancellation will be fixed on next update.
One of the bugs on 16.12.2015 is Reaper's damage. It is much lower than what tooltip shows. This will be fixed on next update too.

Just gave it a try and found out that the hotkeys is as usually not working well. Gonna find way to fix it to my regular hotkeys before i can play - -
Manual editing hotkey is ok. There is a bug that normal cc can't cancel producing SCV but luckily upgraded one can cancel just fine
Finished first 2 mission, interesting concept feel like FF7 + StarCraft
StarCraft Editor should have auto voice to read all the dialogue

LotW patch has caused lot things to fix for this campaign. I am updating the campaign and improving it again. I will upload improved version before christmas. I am quite motivated for mapping at the moment so I am going to create some new content too.
Banished Brood mission1 will be included on Hand of Humanity campaign soon so I will delete Banished Brood campaign. Zerg / Protoss missions will be included to Hand of Humanity campaign.

Tip for mission7: Build few bunkers / Turrets in infested village and keep your units defending in there.
Cutscenes and all kind of fine tuning makes this campaign much better indeed. Hopefully I will find time and interest to continue improving my campaign.
Excellent campaign except scenario 7 (I love the idea to defend civilians and the map) far too difficult even at easy/casual settings (I had to cheat!), for the rest at normal difficulty settings the campaign is too easy, yopu create 3 bases and AI does not visit the two new ones, only the 1st/main base. Exception again, I won scenario 13 (with the rescue of miners) at casual difficulty setting (without cheating) only. At normal settings it was too difficult. I love your turrets (flame and machine gun) and the Warbot (you should have a specific sound for its catterpillars when it moves). Using the mercenaries is quite useful. Cutscenes are needed and in a few scenarios you should add a voice to the robot now "reading" you the instructions. For the rest, great work!
Is there an older version of the campaign? I keep getting "unable to load map" from latest versions (2014). My game is version 2.0.6

Just a Honest review:
First of all, why in the hell do you always have to start without a CC? thats just boring
the Story: would be cool for your next project if you tell the story in little cutszenes rather than just simple text.
The AI: I started in normal and raised it soon to brutal, im not a SC2 Uberpro but the AI acts so horrible, that everything is solved by, bunker down,get some units, rush the enemy. Would be nice if the AI does not only attack your main base.
Units: you implemented a great variety of units, the problem is. They are all useless except the barracks units. There is just no reason to have 3 mech units that are good against light units. The only unit worth to build was the warbot, and maybe the goliath. The hellbats/vultures were only usable in some of these rescue missions.
and at last just a personal thing. Its kinda boring to look every 5 minutes after a new expension that you dont have to defend, or just build a planetary forstress on it.
overall that are all negative points, but i had fun playing the campaign and i think you did good work there, except these tiny little negative things ;)

Unfortunately I can not help with Mac problems. I have only tested things on PC.
I am a newbie to downloading maps. I unzipped the file to maps inside Starcraft 2 file on my macbook pro. When I open the launcher in map editor I hit the Test Document button. This opens Starcraft 2 and the launcher screen with all the missions. I select a mission and it gives me the message "Unable to open map" I am not sure why. Is there a way to find the map inside the Starcraft 2 when signed in to battle net?
New version uploaded. There was some actor problems (Duplicated something wrong) with hero units so I created Max Green hero again from scratch by just modifying Dominion Kill Team but with same stats and abilities as old hero. Mission3 main objective changed. Now your objective is to destroy Minestar dump trucks instead of killing enemy hero unit. I will try to avoid using unit duplicating in future so I will try to use only models that are not used by default units for heroes. Actors are just too complicated, when you make even minor changes something may go wrong with actors.
I look for campaign designs because I like to play something that has sequences and some sort of storyline to allow my mind to wander off to. This did the job. While your intros need a bit of touchup on spelling and grammar, they set the plot for each scene well. I played on normal and did find some to be a tad on the easy side, but it also gives me a reason to go back in and try it on the harder settings. Which in turn helps me blast away some more time in a storyline setting. Kudos bro.
