I was getting errors too when starting the launcher, till it was pointed out to me that the Launcher map should not have the "00" in the title. Hence the title should be "Crimson Moon Campaign Mission Launcher", NOT =! "Crimson Moon Campaign 00 - Mission Launcher". As long as it is named properly everything loads up perfectly. You then execute "Test Document", Ctrl-F9 and it will launch smoothly and allow you to select your mission. The error is just the proper naming of the mission launch campaign. Sorting this out was easy, the mistake is also the same in "Amber Sun", and "Aureolin Eclipse". Thank you for this, amazing work!
Actually, there is a tip explaining it pretty detailed. I suggest you read it. Alternatively, watch this video:
3rd mission isn't possible nor explained clearly lol.
You can find the maps on the Arcade if you search. However, you won't be able to save.
You get that message because the path is wrong. It should be StarCraft 2/Maps/Crimson Moon, and then the files go there. Don't worry, you don't actually need the launcher. You can just open the maps.
I am a newbie to downloading maps. I unzipped the file to maps inside Starcraft 2 file on my macbook pro. When I open the launcher in map editor I hit the Test Document button. This opens Starcraft 2 and the launcher screen with all the missions. I select a mission and it gives me the message "Unable to open map" I am not sure why. Is there a way to find the map inside the Starcraft 2 when signed in to battle net?
Great campaign! Lots of diversity in missions and awesome soundtrack.
There is no voice-acting, but the story is so engrossing that it doesn't even need it.
Highly recommended.
Hey everyone,
First off, I haven't started playing the campaign yet (which I'm expecting it'll be great), but I believed I have found a solution for the empty map bug that some people have been getting. I got this bug myself. I hope the information here proves helpful. Here's what I did:
1. After downloading the .zip file, unzip it. Create a folder called Crimson Moon in the Maps folder in the Starcraft 2 folder. For me, the address was: C:\Program Files (x86)\StarCraft II\Maps\Crimson Moon Note: If the Maps folder does not exist, open the editor and click the test button. This will create the Maps folder
2. I assume the problem is that, when you double click the map file, and the editor opens up, an empty map shows up. This was what happened to me. I fixed it by, instead of double-clicking the map file, you open the editor, and then go to the File tab, and click Open...
3. At this point you must specify the Crimson Moon folder as addressed above, by clicking Browse. The map files will appear under the folder. These are the maps you double click and open.
4. The map should load properly now. Testing should work properly. Even the Mission Launcher directs to the other scenarios provided that they are in the Crimson Moon folder as detailed above.
I really hope this solves the problem for everyone who hasn't been able to play this campaign yet. Greetings to the author from Ecuador!
This has been asked before. To be honest, I don't know. You'll have to try to redownload or something. It's coming often now, though, which bugs me, as I don't have a solution.
Opening the maps in the editor (either launcher or the actual maps) just shows nothing (no terrain) and the "test map" button is disabled. Any ideas?
All I can is this: open the campaign launcher in the editor. Hit "test map" and launch the missions from the launcher in-game.
Good question. I've fixed things here and there all the time ever since I last updated it, but haven't found these things to be big enough to warrant an entire new upload. So I can't specify all the details. To be honest, uploading a new version now is akin to restarting a supposedly broken machine: an easy solution that hopefully fixes a problem that may seem bigger than it is. I'm not a very technical guy. I just try things and hope they work, which they surprisingly end up doing most of the time.
What is the different with the old version?
A new version is now up.
I'm going to reupload the entire thing, see if it fixes it. I don't think it's a patch thing, as it works for most people.
I'm also having the same problem where the maps are blank and it shows a instant victory. I tried restarting a few of them to no avail. I can't even seem to launch the maps by drag and dropping (maybe a patch change?). Am I doing something wrong here? Your maps look great by the way, I was really hoping to try them.
Thanks
The assume position map is hard, until I figure out you are not suppose to win, you are suppose to survive ^_^.
My favorite are the black khan ,veil of frost and under the crimson moon.
Great work here.
Glad to hear that! :)
Well, a restart seems to have fixed the problem.
Very odd.
Cheerio and thanks. Now bumbling my way through 8...
This is very odd. I did a playthrough myself, but it worked fine. I suggest you either restart or, better yet, download the campaign anew.
I don't have the time to test it myself at the moment, but I will after school, and if I can find the error, I will fix it and upload it all anew. Glancing through the editor doesn't reveal anything, though. As you can see below, it is a quite simple trigger:
