I actually have the same problem as smoligor. Ive tried it everyway I could but I just cant seem to get it to work.
That's the first time I've heard of that not working. I think it may be a one-off, meaning you can probably restart the mission and then it will work. I shall check the trigger too, though.
Extremely impressed so far (mission 1-3).
However I've hit a snag. (spoilers below!)
In 04 The Black Khan I have obtained the two bombs however seem to be unable to complete the "blow up the basement" objective. The beacon in the basement appears but nothing happens when I step on it, cloaked or uncloaked. Nothing special that I can see except that the new beacon appears significantly larger than all the other beacons so far.
Any thoughts? I would hate to have to skip this mission as it is looking extremely promising thus far!
Did you open it in the editor and hit "test map"?
Hellow guys, i played Brood War remake mod...and it is awesome dispite some small bugs. And i wanted to try this one too. Ive got official HOTS russian version with original WOL , i put it into maps/Crimson Moon folder but when i am trying to launch the mission launcher it shows me an absolutly empty map. When i try to lunch it i have just a victory message on empty map, and nothing happens. Does anybody has any idia how can i fix this problem?
Hi, nimbusqwe. Thanks for your feedback. Greatly appreciate it.
Difficulty is something that varies. Some find it easy, some difficult. You are absolutely right that the author "knows the tricks" and that everybody else do not, but you say that as if it is the opposite of what you said previously, which is that the campaign was easy. I'd say that there are some challenges sprinkled throughout, particularly with mission 8, but yeah, some of it is really easy. Something I'm trying to fix in my next campaign!
Non-RTS missions: This was something that became a near necessity when it came to the story (it is about an infiltrator, after all). Again, I'm trying to include more macro in my next campaign, as I somewhat agree with what you said.
The terrain is actually a reflection of the story, actually, not the other way around. Some examples: Deadman's Port was chosen to reflect the butthole the miners had gotten themselves caught up in, Mar Sara was because it feels like "home", and Agria because I wanted to end on a somewhat dreamy and beautiful note.
Protoss will have a large role to play in the sequel! I just couldn't fit them in here.
The level of campaign is not too difficult. I was gold/platinum and it was hard for me but not impossible.
The main problem with difficulty level is that the author of map "know the tricks". So for him gameplay is a way simpler then for the unprepared player.
Finished all missions.
Propably this is the best player campaign on mapster. :)
The plot is interesting, the heroes are different and "like-able". I was really impressed by the mission "Black Khan" (during the Zerg attack), and Frost Veil.
One thing: In my opinion there's too much non-rts missions. I like installation type missions but there's a lot of them in this campaign. Sometimes I want to crush something with fleet. :D (in addition - in my campaign there's not any "installation" non-base map :D ).
Sometimes it's feel like you are using you PERFECT terrain, and trying to put to them a plot and triggers. A little "by force".
But still - propably the best campaign here!! A large advantage - it's almost complete!
And of course - I'm waiting for protoss. :)
And that's perfectly fair, it still is an amazing work in terms of completeness. I will eventually managed to complete it (it just might take awhile). I still love the story, love the maps. Thank you for the time you put into creating this and sharing it.
I guess I could have created difficulty settings. It's not that difficult really (pun not intended). But to tell the truth, I'm not interested. I guess I like the idea of there being only one, really. :D
As for the skill level: I play Diamond on ladder (though that's Protoss, not Terran), so I guess I'm above average when it comes to playing SC2, which might have affected the dificulty of the campaign. However, I did try to avoid making it too difficult, whilst also ramping it up a bit in later missions (I can barely complete #8 myself).
Played a bit more finally EividL. Aside from my woefully lacking Starcraft skills, I've still got nothing but praise for what you've accomplished here. This is a quality campaign, just wish there was some difficulty settings so I could sit back and enjoy the story... rather than get my sorry excuse for a Starcraft player's butt kicked.
Still, Mission 4, fantastic. Wonderful brilliant creation in the editor. Simply brilliant.
Patience is a virtue.
Yes you are right i have to apologise again, as i now see the tooltip. The campaign is very well made so far, im just an idiot. Thanks
There should be a very thorough tip that is triggered after the C4 cinematic, provided you don't have a really old version of the campaign. It states the objectives very explicitly.
Ah okay thank you for clearing that up sorry i was a bit blunt was just frustrated lol.
There are three hives and three groups of APCs. First you destroy one hive before the first APC board the transport (note: the timer shows when the APCs begin to move, note when they're reach the ships). Destroying a hive allows you to see which APC is infested. You will need to destroy one hive for each group.
So, destroy a hive. Destroy infested APC. Repeat three times.
Whats the deal with the third mission? im supposed to destroy all the hives before the trucks make it? You barely get enough time to make a base!
That's odd. No, your files are in the right place.
If your computer can't access the files, it might be an issue with your editor. Can you open it regularly? Can you open other maps?
When I try to launch any mission, it gives me an error saying, "Windows cannot access this file" or something like that.
The directory is in C:
Program Files \ Starcraft II \ Maps \ Crimson Moon
Is that the wrong place?
@Wunterwaffen: The text bug is something that a lot of people have had a problem with, including myself. It has something to do with localization. I will be trying to fix that if I can, then reupload the entire thing, and hopefully get some feedback from people who has had the problem.
In the meantime, try restarting the map until it works or perhaps open it in the mission launcher. It probably won't work, but it's worth a shot.
Thanks for the positive feedback.
