Weather by DarlD
Weather is a .SC2Mod file containing a library which gives the user the capability to create weather systems in their maps. Let's say you have an RPG which is situated in a forest... Wouldn't it be nice if it rained once in a while? Weather comes equipped with four different "Weather Types" as follows: Forest (Rainy), Desert (Windy dust), Snow, Heat Wave (Sun/winds). In addition, each type can be set at different intensities (Light, Medium, Heavy).
Vikings with lasers are TOTALLY awesome. You can see that third viking firing lasers at the mothership and the mothership reverse tractor beaming missiles into itself. It's awesome.
oh crap
Well I guess I can skip finishing my weather Craft mod- because it's basically identical.
@Eimtr: Go
There's a snow tielset in WoL though you gotta know how to create it. It's not as nice as HoTs but its still good but certain lightings make it look nasty.
Because such effects I may need in the future (I was waiting for HotS since I know they have the excellent snow terrain). And my idea in the past about itI was adding snow terrain spots all over the map gradually with triggers and just half transparent, later less transparent until the whole place becoems in snow.
I plan on extracting the textures of the tree's and simulating the accumulation of snow on the tree's.
I also wanted to change the texture on the ground gradually but I have not checked if it's possible yet.
What if you replaced the model of the trees with a snowy version. But for gradual change and snowing like adding a little snow that later becomes more and more, maybe in hots can be done
Sorry guys, we put the wrong video on here. I've changed it now- the new one should show off the power of the engine a bit more.
Awww. That first video I made was crap as (like stated bellow) it doesn't show the different seasons you can use in this mod. And there is a total of 1080 actor's that can be created within' a few seconds.
I have a feeling that you just create 1 doodad and slowly move it. Good idea, but it's nothing fancy :(
Nice but i expected to see real changes e.g seasonal change or from raining to snowing, etc lol
Love seeing assets like this released to the community. Simple. Portable. Effective. Nice work. :)
Can't wait to try it out ^ ^
Darl man you've got skills. Cant wait to see what finished games you create :D
