So authors with popular addons get the next keys? Good :).

Good to hear you guys are tightening up on the policies, either though it's purely coincidental that I released TrueHealth the same day as this giveaway.

Hi guys, I just wanted to take a few moments here to update you guys on the status.

We're waiting on the next batch from Blizzard so we can continue to hand out to authors. We've also received a truly insane number of new people trying to get keys by any way possible. As have our friends over at WowInterface.

We'll be also tightening up our distribution policies.

Going forward, anyone who wants to sign up for a key must have a certain minimum threshold for the popularity of their addons in order to be approved. We'll be using the same metrics as we do for the rewards program for this, although you don't have to be signed up for the rewards program to be considered.

We are leaving it open to new users, however, by default you'll have to wait until your addon reaches the threshold of popularity before you're eligible. Also, at this point we're leaving the giveaway open to team members on addons, not just the manager.

At the moment, the only projects on my account I'm a co author on. Is this enough to qualify for a key, or should I upload a project where I'm the only author?

I understand that but I created this Addon and it is working and doing what it should do. Some of my friends and I use the Friend or Foe addon for quite some time now but I did not make it public until now. The addonpage says its under review. Is it sill evulated to see if it works or if it is not "good enough"? From what I understood (what Kaelten said) it is not good enough to be eligible for a key? :(

My native language is not english so excuse me if I understood something wrong please.

@lollarn yes, this giveaway is limited to current authors. Addons in cataclysm are still disabled and will likely be for some time.

@Tschika56 There is a lot of scamming going on right now.

There have been 100-150 projects created since this went live. The project approval queue is full of crap from people just trying to scam an author key. Moderation is on high mode right now.

@Ceryx I believe more will go out.

@lollarn You have to be an existing author, or having a legitimate working addon.

But there is nothing to improve or change, the addon works exactly like planned. It notifies you if a friend or foe is under your cursor. If you want addons to be very complex or at least 100kb in size you should add it as note to the Shop because it says: "This requires no curse points nor that you be part of the rewards system, just that you have an addon with us." :(

If I add 200 lines of comments or useless features no one wants it will be better? That's hard to believe.

Have all the keys gone out yet? I've got an older but still up to date addon that still seems to get downloaded now and then. I've been meaning to give it a bit of a facelift, and cata seems a good time to do it. :) But not sure if I put the request in too late!

i'm planning on making an addon for the cataclysm talent tree new design, will i be able to get a beta key if i'm only planning on making an addon (as i need help from my brother :P) from you guys?

And how can I improve my Addon Friend or Foe? I thought having an addon qualifies you, not having an addon with 500+ lines of code (quote: " just that you have an addon with us."). Would be nice to know or get some hints. :(

I've heard the reports but I've not heard anything official, or semi-official, or unofficial, or any-type of official regarding the login issues.

I know that last night I couldn't log in either and my account didn't come from this set of keys. So I'm not sure it's completely isolated to the new keys.

As I mentioned before I'm having to elevate moderation procedures for new addons for the time being. Keys are limited and we have a lot of issues with people trying to upload a macro that got hooked up with a toc file. I apologize for having to be so strict with it at the moment, but with the limited keys we still have I'm rationing based on length of time being active with the community.

In the next few weeks I hope to be able to loosen up some of the watchful eyes. But to give people some idea we've had nearly 100 addons uploaded since this give away was announced.

If you're one of the people who had your order canceled and projects are not approved yet, please continue to work on them to improve them. :)

Yeah, I'm thinking someone at blizzard has not pushed the big blue database sync key for the beta account login server yet.

I just wanted to let admins know that many other people as well as me are having issues with these keys. When we go to login we are presented with "Logon Server is busy".

The servers have been up since last night.

Also, when I go to copy my character, it says I only have 2 premades left (I used 3), but it's not showing any successful or unsuccessful premade character copies.

From reading the forums, this build sounds pretty unstable. Maybe it has something to do with that. :/

Just hoping maybe you guys could pass the word along to Blizz since there is no official acknowledgment of the issue yet.

Am I eligible for a key if I'm set as translator on three projects and additionally sometimes commit things (smaller code fixes and translations) on BigWigs (that doesn't list me as project member)?
