So along with working on recreating my old models I've also begun working again on my campaign. The image attached is of one of the units you'll be seeing in my campaign, or at least the work in progress of it. I'll continue to update as I put more work into my stuff. This particular unit once edited will appear more Terran like as it will basically act as a machine designed version of the Zealot.
I'm back and working on some new stuff. Will start updating more now that I have a bit more free time. For those who have noticed that my previous models were taken down, this is temporary. I'm redoing them from scratch and will have them posted when they are finished.
The resource gatherer of the machines, the Harvester. Currently is using a Protoss texture but am hoping to change that soon. Arms underneath it do move as it gathers mineral.
So am continuing to work on my machine units. The Sidewinder Missile Drone is almost ready for release, just a few more tweaks to it need to be done. Have also begun to start on two new units. The image is of a infantry based unit I'm calling the Flea. Its going to be a fast moving ranged attacker who can dart in and out of harassment maneuvers. The third unit to come will be labeled the Legionnaire and will act as medium class infantry. Hope to put an image of the Legionnaire soon.
The completed model of the Sidewinder Missile Drone. A few added pieces, minus the legs extended for now. Still doing some work with its bones so well see how it comes out in the end.
Alright so I've been without a computer for quite some time due to a hard drive crash. Unfortunately this means I lost a lot of my projects. Good thing is I got myself a brand new computer that is a massive upgrade so hopefully I can crank out some new models in the coming days for people to enjoy. Have also come up with brand new ideas, in particular creating a new machine based race. In the attachment I give you an image of Sidewinder. This rocket launching walker will be acting as a light, mechanical busting walker with dual missile launchers. Hopefully joining it soon will be what I plan to call a radar bug, a small burrowing unit that can move about the battlefield and detect the presence and path of enemy forces within range.
So here is the latest on my Armed Miner. Still have to run him through the game to be sure the animations are running smoothly and will probably post once I do.
Muspelli is right in this matter, GhostNova could indeed legally charge for the use of his models in a manner of speaking. There are loop holes in every rule and in this case there is as well. I won't be sharing this loop hole though, lets keep this place free shall we.
Virolisk
So the Virolisk was actually my first attempt at making a Starcraft 2 model and since putting it together I haven't really touch it. I am planning on making some changes for it though, in both appearance and as the role it plays among Zerg forces.
Banshee Pilot
So I haven't been having any problems with the Banshee Pilot since releasing 2.0a, a fact I am glad to hear. Once I get the time I will also be making a unarmed version. Unfortunately I have been unable to make a portrait due to problems with 3ds max and have asked for the help of another modeler who has come to have success with portraits; I will keep everyone updated of this modelers progress.
Hk - Hunter Killer
Unfortunately I am forced to scrap HK for now. No matter what I try it just isn't working out the way I want it. There seems to be an issue with the Goliath model itself, thus causing the difficulties I'm having. If this changes I'll let you all know.
Zealot Selendis
At the moment I'm pretty happy at where my original Selendis is though she is due for some changes soon. I do plan on giving her armor a more female look to it and add some more flare to her appearance. As for the unarmored version, I have again reached out to another modeler who believes they can create a texture that will look right for it. Once that comes through I will be able to finish the editing of it and release it to everyone.
Mjolnir Battlesuit
So the final project for the Protoss I have at this moment is the Mjolnir Battlesuit. The picture posted in the Assets section is merely a concept of what it will become. The plan is to make it much larger, to act as not armor but a full battlesuit. What made me wish to create this unit is the realization that every Protoss ranged unit is either dying or air-born. To be honest I thought that kind of odd and figured why not create a unit that wasn't either of those. Anyway, still got a long way till its completion so again, will keep up to date.
Armed Miners
For the time being the Armed Miners are on hold. For whatever reason the animations are becoming jacked up once I import it to 3ds max. I am currently looking to have this issue fixed by someone who knows animations so I'll keep everyone informed as it becomes updated.
So I'm opening this thread to share the progression of my models rather then just posting them to assets right away. If you want to keep up with a project you like then you can do that here. I'll try to keep it updated as much as possible.
Alright so I recently downloaded Autodesk 3ds Max 2013 to get into custom modeling and am having some trouble with it. Whenever I import an .m3 model from Starcraft 2 it seems to flip out and send the pieces stretching every which way, as seen below.
I've figured out that it has to do with the animation bones, since importing the file without them works just fine. Anybody got an idea on how to fix this issue?
