3. You didn't exactly present your idea that well. I think many would be rather interested if they knew that you can handle the project.
Oh yes, there is also randomized inventory for each player.
It has typical stuff like Lamps and Lighters.
Time to time. L suspects that Kira has certain thing, giving the hint who he/she might be. Of course L things stuff like Death Note as Notebook.
Okay I finally nailed down the system I want to this map to use.
Each Investigator can "suspect" certain person, if more than one Investigator suspects certain person, it will speed up L's suspicion towards you even more.
When L's suspicion reaches to 100% against any person, it means that person gets arrested and that technically means that person can talk rest of the match but can't use his commands. It is because L has not yet send person to actual Jail.
Players can probably shoot the other players but that would mean very likely that player will be screwed over.
Kira can also burn evidence. It will reduce L's suspicion and it makes L randomly blame someone of it.
List of People has 100 names. Each player is also in that list as it presents their "real name". If Kira kills guy from "List of People" and it is player owned, that player is defeated. However if all Investigators suspects the same guy and it is Kira, Kira is defeated. However who player suspects in his settings, is not revealed to other players directly.
Now comes the part, how to make Investigators role more interesting.
You could only use a leaderbord or custom dialog and display a different name there. But people will still see the real name when moving the mouse over a unit, etc.
always had a liking to mystery games :P hopefully this doesn't get banned for something ridiculous like many other great maps.
if you like Death Note, Code Geass might also be to your liking, although its a weird mix of genres (mystery, mecha, school) the main character is like Light
Hoping to see the maps release soon :)
There is also Japanese Death Note games made for NDS.
Death note, eh? This could be done so many ways. Here's my idea on it:
A free-roam city with hundreds of randomly generated civilians. There's a group of civilians that all know who each other are (The Investigators). They go around the city, investigating civilians and suspicious activity (IE, someone writing in a book (probably just standing still for a bit), and a civilian dieing soon afterwards). The Death Note keeper doesn't know the investigators and vice versa.
The Investigators would investigate civilians, questioning them (and revealing their identity, to prove they're an investigator).
The Death Note keeper would look for other suspicious people (investigators who are standing still with another person, investigating them). If the investigator reveals their identity and the Death Note keeper is within close proximity (short hearing distance), the Death Note keeper would discover the investigators name.
There would be a difference between sight range and hearing range, so the Death Note keeper would have to get close enough (and potentially follow) the investigator to find out what his name is, thus potentially creating suspicion for an observant investigator.
This is just an idea of something I think I'd enjoy. ^.^
Actually I did something similar in "Shinigami Note" map.
Everyone got their floating name and it is only revealed to those who comes close.
Problem is how Blizzard is gonna react to this map.
if it is i'd recommend looking at "fringe" coop vs AI on eu server by nash
the terrain may be a little bland and its not on the same scale as ZHRPG but it's still quite a solid map (though do it with a decent group or things will be really hard)
I was one of the "candidates" to moderate this forum section. Just saying that maybe he should somehow find more time for his reviewing, if he wanted to apply to moderating this forum section.
It is sound idea that players are part of the Investigation Team.
They should be able to somehow find who is Kira before he has chance to finally reveal L's true name and kill him. Victory or defeat for players would be based of that outcome.
EXP could be saved for players, deeming potential candidate who should play Kira in the match.
Thus I think that real name should be found from "List of People". However as this map uses "action points" to control how fast players can act, it would take time to find who is who.
When Kira player Judges, his max Action Points slowly increases, allowing somepoint enough action points to finally find out L's real name.
Basically in Kira's case, Action Points simulate the increasing support from the public and decreasing support for the people who oppose him.
I can employ Mafia style chat system to have custom names, etc. However Real Names are randomized.
If I can set up for my map "free trial" with time limit and/or limited features I would consider it after Marketplace arrives. I also could actually then pay for the artists who has made graphics for my TCG map.

There is trigger to remove that.

Support to do own campaign files what can be published. It would store maps inside and allow switching between them.

Actually, build animations part sounds bit interesting.
