Oh boy, I think I get some of it. But im confused still.
Under the UnitCreated trigger, for the Condition how did you select the Barracks? How would I go about changing it to any other building?
Also from looking at this, where in this does it kill the unit being made? There would be 3 switches (for each of the 4 players) and the unit that gets created would determine which switch to set off and then kill that unit and the building that created the unit.
I have a building that has 3 special units that when 1 is built I want it to, then remove the building, remove the special unit, and then turn on a toggle/switch.
There would then be another trigger that would only activate when the Toggle is active and the player's kill count is between a min and max. This would then spawn a unit at a region at a constant interval.
So how do I go about this?
In SC1 Editor you had like 256 "toggles" that you could switch, on/off or have toggled and then you could make commands use the toggles as a condition to fire off the events. Is there anything like this? Is it Variables? I could literally write this out how SC1 triggers would do this if you have trouble understanding what I want.
I used to be hugely into the Original SC map editor and was very good with the triggers but this is a whole new experience. Im scared and afraid XD
The footprint appears to be exactly the same as the original barracks. So Im confused what you are saying.
I literally clicked the barracks and "Duplicate Unit" and now the duplicated unit can be freeplaced which I dont want.
When I click the unit in the data editor, the Movement: Pathing Footprint and Movement: Pathing Footprint - Placement are the same as the original barracks. Then if I look at the footprints area, that is also the same as the original barracks.
So im trying to duplicate buildings that are already in the editor and then edit those, but sometimes when I do that it appears that the duplicated building becomes a unit or something because it no longer snaps to the ground but instead can be placed anywhere like a unit.
It also appears to not duplicate everything the original building had.
How do I fix this issue?
Specifically im trying to duplicate a Terran Barracks, but when I go to place the duplicated structure it doesnt snap to the ground but instead can be freeplaced. It duplicated the footprint of the original barracks and I thought maybe thats the issue.
Im new to the sc2 map editor and im trying to learn it. Ive used SC1 and WC3 editors before.
Map Idea 1:
Starcraft Vs Starcraft 2
Players can pick their desired race and which of the 2 versions of the race they want to play in a normal melee style.
Map Idea 2:
MixedCraft
Normal type of map were players can pick to play as any of the starcraft races, and any of the warcraft races, including the non-playable races like the Naga and the Chaos Orcs.
