I actually wouldn't mind those additions you guys were talking about. Something like that would be perfect, so people waiting for someone to join, won't be waiting forever at least. It might also help with beta tests for new games. I wonder though how the popularity list might be affected if the total number of games played (as opposed to total hours played) were a deciding factor in popularity. I wonder if the popularity list would change more often or less frequently, because ultimately, having the popularity list change would be a good way to get people to try new maps they otherwise might not have seen.
I think one of the things blizzard wanted to do with custom games in this one was to ensure it was easy and simple for players to play any game. In BW, if there was a good game, but no one was hosting it, and you dont have it, you can't play it. It also saves less computer savvy players from wondering which game is which when trying to host a certain map. Especially since there were a lot of different versions. It was also very hard to join some of the popular games, and hard for new players to learn games, because you were often booted if you were a noob, and yet there may not be versions of the games for noobs.
Now, if they could strike a good balance between the old system and new one, it would be perfect for everyone. How you do that? Im not entirely sure, but I'm sure Blizzard reads suggestions.
As a more on topic note, thanks for the interview, gets me more excited for Blizzcon lol since they can't say anything fun until then.

This looks like, fun, is there anyway you'd be able to get this uploaded on North American Servers somehow?
