Please tell me I'm missing something, but is there a way to wait in a trigger for input, and then write that input to a variable? This is probably something super obvious and I'm just being a moron.
Can you change the textures on the ground with triggers? Can you do it from textures that are not on your pallete (the 8 you get)? If so, I would skip with joy around the house a few times.
Would it be possible using triggers and banks to make a feedback library, where the player could type -feedback (or something to that extent) and the mapmaker would be able to read it? Or would it be impossible because everything is saved client side. If that is the case, how do developers post the highest scores?
"The mapmaking community did its part too. With tens of thousands of custom maps uploaded to Battle.Net and hundreds of amazing custom games to play, we have all marveled at the technical, artistic, and creative skill of the StarCraft II mod community. Desert Strike, Storm of the Imperial Sanctum, Marine Arena, Zealot Frenzy, Star Battle and, of course, Nexus Wars have shown us an entertaining glimpse of what the talented StarCraft II community is capable of creating. We couldn’t resist throwing our hat into the ring and hope that players have enjoyed Aiur Chef, StarJeweled, and Left 2 Die."
I was planning to make one of my bosses a pineapple for my map, and have different aspects for different fruits with different effect. However, I must now go create some delicious lemon meringue DIE.
The only way I can think of to do the temple would be to make it a few times in different places, dont place on startup, and use triggers to pick a location.
yeah, but you already have some things like that, like the blankity blank in mid and the other dingdong on the other side of the map, near the triple bonus thing.
This is where I started learning data . this is a great tutorial on how to make a basic ability, it covers basic behaviors, persistants, some actors, damage, stuns, and some other stuff.
Idea for map, what about a new type of tower found in the map, like the xelnaga. What if you "owned" them the same way but they created a link between 2 towers and let units quickly travel between them? I'm writing a PM with an idea for a random event also.

A bit of info about what the map is would be nice.

preplaced list, would be hard to make it completely random because of the eviroment where it is set up.

I hope I was ambiguous enough.

Random from a list would be good, just random could have nasty side effects. And yes you would need both.
