Very good terrain, agree with Alaron though, it is a bit too sudden a change. Also, maybe vary the elevation slightly - really can make the difference for those outcrops. As well as this, something that might make the outcrop crystals stand out more is custom colouring? Not a necessity, but something to think about. Good job though, inspiring me to start making a new map :)

Heya Cheddar, first off, nice labyrinth - the fact you've actually made a maze that works is very cool. Nice job. Few tips - in the doodad section of the editor is one known as VikingSkyDoodad or something to that effect, when you're done making a map you can place that down so it looks like there is a sky rather then just a black nothingness. Secondly, whilst what you've done is great, why not change the outside of the map - perhaps make it a jungle, or rocky canyon, or something to change it from the blue puddle we have surrounding your awesome maze at the moment? - Good terrainers will make every part of their map look unique and interesting - Telthalion's burnt out / destroyed city comes to mind - every part of that had something that caught the eye. And last point from me here, why not do more with textures ? E.g. you've used the raise tool to make the platform for your maze, why not colour the new 'cliff' like areas of the map a dark dirt / rocky texture? Make them look like they could actually stand up at those angles? Overall, impressive stuff though for a newcomer - kudos.

It's good, but the smoke around the disk and the waterfall seem a bit... I dunno... they just stand out too much? Maybe it's your intention with this shot, but the waterfall looks far too bright. That being said, I do love the angle and the floating islands - nice touches there.

Moza, if you need any terrains from past WTE's just say. I'll upload a few for you peoples to have a gander at now anyway.

Edit: These should be the up to date versions of each map.

Agreed. Vanilla though was unique in that it was in effect a blank slate. Game mechanics, quest styles, play styles etc. could be built from the ground up and sold as something unique and interesting. The fundamentals of the game could not be changed too drastically between expansions however - that would be detrimental. That is why those of us who played Vanilla - especially those who played from the start - have such nostalgia about it. Everything was new, fresh, raid bosses and raid mechanics were introduced to make for some truly awe inspiring spectacles. Now, with the scaling down of raids, the revisiting of Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms, the game does seem to be stagnating. Especially when combined with only very minimal revamps in playstyle (paladin holy power as one example). I for one don't think I'll be renewing my subscription and nor will I be purchasing MoP. There is only so much perfume one can spray to hide the smell of manure.

Ok, here's my shot at a slightly different take on this weeks WTE. Decided to go for a Protos jungle observation post. Nice and simple, they get warped in via the pylon for their shift, then can warp out again and get switched with another zealot.

Was going to go hardcore, add several more large trees with interconnecting bridges, steps built into the trees spiralling downwards to the ground as a way up, buildings built into the trees etc. but would take a biblically long time lol.

Grab the axe from my shelves above my bed, grab the replica pistol, put on my police kevlar body armour, and proceed to walk around the house in my boxers and protective gear... maybe throw on my halloween hockey mask too just to scare the scary monster in my house

Love the massive fins, that thing would fly through water. Try make it look like it's moving though maybe? Twist the tail round or something?
