Funny you say both because I actually decided to do so! Towards the beginning of the game the humans will be primarily gaining resources by mining. And towards the end/middle they will build building that produce higher income..
Hmm not sure what you mean by requirement system. You mean like data requirements? Might be interesting. I'm already setting it up so that certain income buildings will need requirements before they can be built but I'm not sure what else I can do.
I haven't really started doing to much with the income system yet.. So all of this can easily be changed if I hear some good ideas.
Hello I'm currently working on my first sc2 project. I have a lot of experience with the war3editor and I plan on putting a lot of time into this idea I have. I don't want to reveal to much on the concept of the design of the map I have in mind because it's a very original idea and I want it to stay that way. :)
Anyways the basic concept is a monsters versus human race.(Like i said i don't want to be too explicit here.) Anyways I'm trying to decide how I want the human race to gain resources. Do you guys think it would be more interesting to see the humans build buildings at a limitless race that automatically give them resources? Think of probes vs zealots or many of the hundreds of other games with this concept... Or more of a standard resource gathering system. Like from like a melee game for example? There would be some difference to this if this was the case. Like different capable miners a long with multiple locations to mine. Or a combination of the two. Or perhaps something entirely original. Anyways let me know what you guys think!
Oh and yea. I think DEMI GOD would be the best! Demi god just sounds cool to me. Plus you could make him some what vulnerable to the people. Maybe give them a chance of actually killing the Demi God. If they were lucky enough. I think that would be a fun concept.
Sounds interesting. There was a similar game in WC3 I think it was called like gods and men or something. It was where one person was god in the center of the map and was all powerful. Had all kinds of awesome powers, controlled angels and demons. Would summon units to players wherever he wished. All of the players in the game were controlled by people though not AI. (Which i think would be better, effect the world of people instead of AI) Could give buffs and other stuff to the players, they all waged war on one another. While God sat on his throne playing with the world. Was a pretty cool game. I think something like that if done right would be a lot of fun on SC2. The game was pretty popular on war3.
So then to resolve the issue I need to go back and change the ID of the original actor after duping? So for example if the ID of the scv was duped. Then the actor may have changed to scvcopy1 upon duping? Or some other random number?
Sorry I would check myself but I'm downloading sc2 on my laptop right now :/
Hello I'm rather new to the Sc2 map editor. I was a pro with the wc3 editor but the data editor perplexes me on this editor.
I've been trying to duplicate units. But when I do so the model isn't duplicating as well. How do I make the model duplicate as well? I know that I used to be able to do this and it just suddenly stopped.
Also I would like to know how to take my own model that I made and put it onto the unit of my choice. If for example I did not have a model on a unit. I tried this approach to fix the problem but it's not working either. Your help is appreciated.

duplicating the actor as well solved the problem. Thanks!

how about making the data editor more similar to waredit's data editor. Functional.
