I was playing a map on sc1 brood war called Diplo 1939 Operations. It has triggers like the main battles of ww2 like normandy and battle of britain and battle of bulge and pearl harbor and japan vs china triggers and germany vs russia triggers, i think you should add some of those to your game it makes it really fun.
If you still have starcraft 1 i can give u a dl link to it and u can play it to really get what i mean. I think it adds a certain realness to the game. But even tho ur not doing the americas u could still do germany vs britain and france and make germany attack russia and make japan attack china.
Also in that game they had a cool way to ally and if u wanted to wage war in the bottom right there was a defiler u had to move onto a certain spot and then automatically if u went on it u both would unally at same time. To ally you both had to be on each others beacons to ally so u knew if they actually added u or were just lieing.
