onetwo the whole item thing isnt a big concern for me. This is a Deathmatch FPS with a leveling system so items and such dont matter as much as making sure each player only plays their own character
If someone could help me get this done it would be great. I already know how to make loot drop but I want to make it so that it gets picked up through proximity or walking through it. Also I would like to know how to make it possible to acquire an item the same way as before but having it stay in the same spot.
Onetwo i had a question. I have an RPG-style system in my game but I do not know how to save characters. I.E. after a player leaves the game I want him to have the same stats he had when he joins a new one
I hope this thread isn't dead yet and there are some more than helpful people just waiting to texturize me some things :). I would greatly appreciate if someone could remake old quake2 item icons for me into files accessible for starcraft2 while also making em look a little nicer. http://www.quake2.com/ simply click on the item and weapon tabs on the top left side. Also there's this http://dervish.tastyspleen.net/other.html if you scroll down you can see the original small icons that were used in the HUD. Those would be nice/better than the other stuff
This is my mod Im working on right now with plenty of difficulties at the moment as I have never attempted anything on this scale, but my enthusiasm to see this mod played again is what will make me damn sure I finish it. What is KOTS3K?

-Originally a Quake2 Mod
-FPS Deathmatch style arena which will be 8 player to start possibly expanded to more
-RPG style XP and character save system
-Ranking Page showing who is King
-Cubes(mana) for abilities
-Power upgrades (spells requiring no cubes but only certain amount of uses per spawn)
-Custom character development with 10 different player trees and 11 weapon trees
Now I'm gonna quickly go over each weapon and player tree highlight so you can see the possibilites.
Player Points
Dexterity - Greater Ammo Pickup, Ammo Steal, Grappling Hook
Strength - Increased ammo/cubes limit, Weapon Knock, Regen Ammo
Karma - Regen Health, Create Healthpacks, Create Fake Healths
Wisdom - Damage Reduction, Lifesteal, Cloaking
Technical - Armor Resist, +armor pickup, Survivability
Spirit - Teleport Packs to you, Empathy shield (damage return), Increased speed in liquid
Rage - Poison, QuadDMG, Create Mine, Armor Knock
VitHealth - Increase Spawn Health by 50 per level
VitArmor - Increase Max Armor by 75, Spawn armor by 10
Munitions - Increase all damage by %5
Weapon PointsNote: Weapons are classed as Energy Or Normal Damage
Sabre(energy) - Default weapon, always carry it, no ammo usage, Huge Damage but melee range
Shotgun(normal) - Mid-Range weapon, Small Spread, Good Damage, Fast Reload
Super Shotgun(normal) - Close Range, Uses 2 Shotgun Shells per shot, Big Damage up Close but rapidly falls with more distance
Machinegun(normal) - Fast Firing, Extremely Accurate, Good damage
Chaingun(normal) - Fastest Gun, Less accurate than MG, Great DPS but has attack set up and cooldown times
Hand Grenade(normal) - Huge Damage, Slow reload, Good splash, Can cook grenades
Grenade Launcher(normal) - Good Damage, Decent Reload Speed, Good Splash
Rocket Launcher(normal) - Good Damage, Fast firing, Good Splash
Hyperblaster(energy) - Best at Short-Mid Range, Think Battlecruiser
Railgun(energy) - Long Range, Insta Gib Cannon, Good damage, decent Reload
BFG(energy) - Long Range, Great Damage, Hard to aim, Longer version of Sabre
Let me know what you guys think and if you have any questions. I have everything mapped out on paper/word on what needs to be done etc. but putting it all into practice will take me a while.
H i everyone Im having trouble with my map at the moment. Here is my issue: When I pick up more than one weapon, they stack over each other stats-wise (damage, range, etc.) and I can't figure it out. If anyone has any solutions that'd be great in helping get this FPS out asap
