    i have made it so that 6 are in one base, and 6 are in the other, and i want to make it so that all 6 on one team are in that 1 base, all allied, and the same thing in the other base.

    also, all players on team 1 must be terran, and all players on team 2 must be zerg.

    i have acheaved this, but, here comes along the next problem, i cannot move players from team to team in the menus, and when i do, the menu shows the are in team 2 for example, but when the game begins, they where still in team 1 from when they joined the game.

    can anyone help me allow players to be swapped teams on the menu, and for the to correspond(aswell as swap race) when the are in game?

    EDIT: another way of putting it, i need a way to make it so that players can swap teams in the banntle.net custom map menu, and make that corrispond in game so that they have actually swapped team, race and position.

    to find the map, search Xhess War Board on the EU batlle.net, its a simple mélee like map with a twist, i appreciate all the help.

    my problem is, i just didn't understand where the infomation he gave could be found, and the basics into using the knowledge.

    in other words, i didn't know where to start, if i was pointed in the right direction, i would be able to follow everything he said. thats my problem, i know i should have said that to begin with :)

    in this video, the units he created, often had one model with another model over the top of it, like holding something or using as a weapon.

    in the data editor, how can i achieve this too?

    in the case of what i want to acheive, a hydralisk stood on a drone, the drone is the mover, while the hydra is the turret.

    could somebody please give me a tutorial on how to make this?

    ty, however, this paint.net is just the same as gimp, i still struggle to find the right plug-in to covert my .jpg files into .dds files could you suggest somewhere for me to go to download these? the gimp website confuses me :S

    After a short time studying the top maps, like mariens arena, desert, nexus wars, income wars ect. i quickly discovered why they are at the top.

    the are maps that require little micro, give you strange units, and massive armies.

    i decided, i could design a map that would perfectly suit these lines, a map with tactics and strategy, but one thuing confronts me, my lack of knowledge with the editor.

    the xhess warboard game is a simple map, you control a small number of units, they make more of them selves, and other unit types, but this requiers too much micro: my first point, i need an idea to automate or make construction much easier.

    second of all, the map appears like a massive chess board, and on each of the 800 squares, a crystal spawns every 30 seconds on all the squares, too collect them, it takes alot of micro or it just mens you have all your unit patroling around the map, how can make it so this isn't required? like an auto cast spell that makes units automatically move to them and pick them up?

    lastly, for such a game to work without bases, and this tough form of building constrcution and units patroling everywhere, it feels as though my map cannot have large armies, ahas anyone got any ideas for allowing all these concepts to work with little micro, and allow big armies, and try not to have structures (i will allow them though if they are needed)

    the idea for the map was someting i could actually make with just simple crytal spawning trigger, and the data editor to make new units ect. but ill need your help for ideas on getting everything to work.

    the map is not on b.net yet, however, when it is, i hope you try it out, it will be named Xhess, or Xhess war board.

    for those not understanding it, picture 2 teams of players, no building, all units, on a big 800 square board, and the board spawns collectable mineral shards o each square for players to pick up and to use for their scv-like units to train more troops.

    whats this paint? it isn't the same as miocrosoft paint is it? that thing has no transparent so me no like :( and MS paint has no dds conversion.

    its nice to see your still working on this, can't wait for the next part! hope you some how get back to the fight with duran, hoping you got an army of hybrid to fight by the end, you also said you got the plot all sorted ou, wouldn't mind chipping in on ideas actually, best leave you too it. loved the DotA btw, and now i know what barroth is, the monster he fights at the end, shame he always dies rofl.
