At the beginning you need to learn and you learn from practice. Yes, reading tutorials help but you need to get your hands dirty! Do some tutorials here that have step by steps for practice. Practice terrain just by messing around with things.
The editor is your toy box, just play with it.
When you figure out what your really good at or really enjoy you will get idea's for it. And depending how good you get you could end up joining a team and working on a project from there.
Mar Sara Road is the only road that looks somewhat worn. It doesn't have holes in the middle of it but on the outside edges it looks worn. It doesn't have curbs like the other road tiles do. That's your best bet aside from making your own texture for a road tileset.
Anytime I have tried to just change the unit textures by replacing it with the same name it doesn't do anything. Same path, same name, same format, everything. It never changes the texture. As I said I think I tried it since patch 1.2 and it just froze or crashed my editor. Maybe it's just me but I have never been able to replace a unit texture just by importing the texture itself. I have always had to change the unit's model to use different textures. Maybe I will have to mess around more with it and try it again.
You can download a free hex editor and search the texture file inside the model file and rename it to your custom texture file. Then import the custom texture and model then set the unit's model file to use your custom model file. It's not extremely hard so it shouldn't be too difficult, it sounds harder than it is.
When we say be confident, it isn't hard. It's not changing who you are. It's changing your mindset. Think positive about yourself, think it will happen, that's all you have to do to be confident. Think & Believe in yourself, that's being confident. It's not to change who you are or how you talk but so you are more positive going into the conversation.
If it's hard to think & believe in something, especially when it's yourself, then yeah I guess it's asking too much... :P
Yo can't just walk up to some random person and ask questions. Imagine this happening to you, "O hey, you're hot. Wanna go see a movie?" Her - "Uhh NOOO YOU FREAK". You must first let them know you are alive and available before you can make a move.
Is this rule written in stone somewhere? :P
You can just walk up to someone and ask them out! You don't have to get to know them. In fact, if you get to know them then they just want to be friends. If you come out straight and ask them out, then you have the excitement of getting to know them over dating. Don't get trapped in friendship unless that's just what you want. Plus this way you don't waste your time because if she's not interested at all then she just says no and you move on and not waste anymore time.
This is the best way to do it, unless of course you just want a friend and not a girlfriend.
Oh and as for the freak stuff... Unless you come up all creepy like, come from behind her or just randomly blurt I LIKE YOU I WANT TO GO OUT WITH YOU, then yes that will happen. So just be yourself, be calm, confident and introduce yourself and ask her out, she's not gonna call you a freak... She'll take it as a compliment and either say yes or no, it's much simpler than what you are making it out to be.
Be confident, be calm, be secure. A girl likes confidence, a girl needs security, so don't make her feel unsafe is all I can say. -Don't act like a freak and she won't call you one- :)
Also seems the verification can cause corruption in the bank files so Blizzard needs to test this more and since maps NEED Battle.net to be played, the verification signature -SHOULD- come from Battle.net itself and not stored locally.
Yeah I mis-understood what he was implying. He said some values so I thought he meant a bunch of changes to the Editor itself. It is just one value though.
As far as I know you still need to edit the model file itself to replace the texture it uses in order to change the texture file. Importing and setting the texture to replace the existing one still doesn't work. I haven't done extensive testing on this since patch 1.2 but I believe when I tried the Editor kept freezing or crashing so I would assume it still doesn't work. Best bet is to hex edit the model file and change the texture to the imported texture file (change the name slightly while keeping the same length).
As the publisher of your map, you should be able to download the full version of your map when you go to manage published maps through the editor, you login and then download your map.
Currently it downloads it as if you were anyone else, making it so you have to hack it in order to get access to your -own- map. As a publisher you should be able to retrieve your map from Battle.net and be able to edit it. *In cases of Hard Drive crashes.* You shouldn't have to hack your own map!
And on that note, we need better map protection and bank protection still!
Hey, just a heads up with the snowfall weather. When Graphic settings - > Shaders = Low, it doesn't load HDR settings and therefore the snow is dark ash like normal. I thought of the HDR trick as well but ended up just changing the model file it self to use white textures so people with low end CPU's see white snow as well. :)
yes it is possible... you simply have to modify some values in the data editor and restart the world editor.
I didn't modify any values in the Data Editor and I can simply right click and add value to add more than one hard tile. Such in my post and attached pictures. No hacking, faking or modifying anything... It shouldn't be difficult, just right click and add value! Also I didn't have to restart the editor but it might need to refresh the texture set so you might have to change the texture set back and forth or re-open the map.

This thread should be named "I setup a website" :P
Back in my day creating a website consisted of notepad and HTML...
But anyway's, if you can change colors, use #4 with #1 colors.

Another way to hide a frame is to set the alpha to 0.

The SC2 Editor has 3 brush shapes: circle, square and diamond. Simply select the square shape when using the Terrain Brushes.
