When i actually made this map i split it into 12 different maps for each scene and put them together with video editing software. I already posted 4 of the maps over here:
The method is pretty much the same for all of them though. Its just basic unit ordering, ownership changing and camera movements. I learned how to do it all by sifting through these forums.
If there is any specific shot you want explained I can try my best to explain it as well.
Molsterr: Ya I got that comment a bunch of times too. I think if I would definately use a different sound or a louder more epic one if I were to do something like that again.
cameroni101: I used the zeratul model because I wanted the main protoss guy to be badass and slice people up. I didn't really have much selection here sooo I just pretended that he was a different protoss guy and hoped that the viewer would just think of him as a different person since all protoss look the same anyways? Kind of like how all asians look the same?? or all of whatever ethnicity look the same haha.
I'm glad you guys enjoyed it overall the map editor is definately a great tool to make cinematics. It is a lot faster than using something like 3dstudio max because there is NO RENDERING TIME! hahaha
I just wanted to let you guys know the reason why my map is in multiple parts was because I never intended on having it as a single map but just a video file.
So what I did was have each scene a seperate map file just to make it easier for myself. I recorded each scene on its own then moved onto the next map. You will notice when you compare map #1 to map #10 there is more terrain being completed because i was doing it as i went along haha.
From The ones that I have tried Fraps seems to be the best for me. Some of the other demos i have tried have caused my frame rates to dip while recording although I don't know too much about them.
I've been working on a cinematic map for the past couple of days and have been trying to figure out how to get stalkers "warped" to a specific region like when you warp in units from the warp gate.
I have tried giving minerals to a computer with pylon and warpates and cybernetics core and issued AI trigger commands to use ability warp stalkers but it doesn't seem to work?

Hey guys,
I wasn't really sure where I could share an SC2 cinematic I just made so I'm putting it up here to share with you guys.
It's my first time using a video game to make a short movie but it turned out to be really fun! Let me know what you guys think!
This website was really useful in learning how to use the galaxy editor for this! Thanks everyone.

Its limited to 30 second clips and a small watermark at the top. It only costs $37.

Try out the demo here. Its pretty much fully functional except there is a small watermark at the top.
