I'm pretty certain after spending serveral hours and adjusting effect and actor targets/hosts, I cannot find a soultion to this.. I have 2 animations that is doing it.. It seems like they're "physics" animations because it's not the same thing over and over, and peices fly from blast randomly, maybe it's something to do with the model somehow?
Ohh and I've tried using SOpShadow still does the same thing.. Perhaps "place it on the ground" I don't know how to do, could you explain?
Fully explained:So basically I've noticed this issue with 2 different animations.. The animation plays normally (a blast looks like a normal circular blast etc) when the unit that uses the ability, is facing down (south). Now if the unit is point left, right, or up or any other direction other than basically downwards.. the animation plays as if there is a target it's moving towards, so in the video you'll see, when the unit is facing up, the animation looks like a shotgun blast arc..
I've messed with nearly everything I thought would work and spent hours trying to figure this out...
The other animation I noticed this happening to, is like a cloud blast.. works normal (aoe blast like animation) when unit is facing down. Any other direction, the cloud blast, moves like a projectile away from the unit and makes it look simply horrible..
Any ideas please!? I just want it to show like an aoe blast coming from the hero unit that uses the ability.
AHA! - On actors, chose the splat actor, in fields, goto actor - height.. Change it to normal, will allow it to go anywhere.. Other presets being "Terrain Minimum" and "actor minimum"
ok so I'm looking for a model to use, I got the rest situated finally.. but originally I had seen in the terrain editor (i think), the model of "warp prism power visual" which shows the area around a warp prism unit, showing the powered area.. that model, I need.. I can't seem to locate the correct model (one that works).. regardless I think it might be an automatic think preset.. so if anyone has an idea on this.. thanks
well i did host - _unit and SOpAttachOrigion, but the visuals don't seem to work
edit: I was using pylonradius as the model for the "aura splat" but it doesn't seem to show, maybe i can't get that or the mineral glow to work anyways?
So basically I have an ability that creates a DPS aura for the surrounding enemy. I want to create a "power visual" (the protoss power splat) at the caster, and stick to it if it moves. Then a mineral glow on the enemy when it's affected by the aura.

It's a basic splat.. any ability with a splat, and negative terrain = , where your cursor is, the targets, where the actual splat image shows, is relevant to the negativity of the terrain.. The splat image is roughly 2 units above where your actually targeting.. Doesn't look like too many people have seen this issue, so I would assume there's no fix.
Soul, use a negative terrain enviroment and a random ability with a splat.. Welcome to the bug club =)

I basically used blizzard's "Belly of the Beast" mission as a reference, I had it working, but added some thing's.. I didn't have to set how many of what was where. The way it's set, is to declare if there is a stated unit in region (using the egg and egg 2 variables) and then check "is egg alive?" then if not, check for egg 2. It was working.. I ruined somethin.@Demalii: Go
I like the idea though Soul, so if I can't get this right I'll perhaps move to that.
Edit: Apprently I did the very top of the trigger incorrectly, I removed the check for if eggs = 0, break... It just checks for if the queen is alive, and now it works. Something to do with the Or -> And condition I did.
I have an area in my map, where the terrain is negatively sunken into the ground, like a deep hole. Now I've only applied the ability "tychus - toss grenade" to my unit, but apparently in the sunken area, when I click to use the grenade, the splat area (target AOE) image, the round circle displaying your target area, is not connectly to its actual placement.. Here's some images to relieve the text pain...
Basically the player team triggers the queen to unburrow and pop (eggs) first, which are tyrant sacks, then if no eggs exist in region, pop egg 2, if none exist, attack to point attack02.
So basically for a hero selection I'm showing text(image) and wanted to set a hover image to like.. a static portrait for example.
After eveything I've attempted, I find that the hover image ends up as a background instead of covering the original text.. The hovered image is broken up, like a texture image..
I found an odd.. problem. I think it is caused like this. I bring my hero to the item shop (a trigger changes ownership to me), I leave the area, the shop becomes neutral again. When I go back to the shop, the items I buy drop to the ground, instead of straight into my inventory.

well if you look, you'll see the targeted units, with a red tint and white circle over them. my mouse is basically over the units that are targeted.

I think I just put this trigger together incorrectly.. I had it working, but then the editor crashed and I didn't get to save this part. I redid it...
