On professional melee maps in SC1 there sometimes were mineral patches with a tiny amount on them as blockers in small passages. In SC2 MULEs would give terrans a huge advantage in overcoming these.
Tell me a movie that features the immersiveness of HL2, I will be happy to hear.
There is so much wrong in the industry, but thank god that you don't decide how games look.
The missions playable at gamescom are the same as in that press invitational a couple of months back. And there are no new units because there are no new units yet.
And three hours for Diablo 3 is actually nothing. I was ten minutes after the venue opened at the Battlefield 3 line, and they said waiting time would be nine (!) hours, so they didn't even let you join the line anymore.
Most details are gone by now, but I remember that it was a VERY weird social map.
What's so special about it being weird you ask? Well, Rodrigo + my subconciousness seem to create a weird vortex of doom... or something.
It was practically Debates on crack-cocaine, because you had to shout at each other really fast and accuse people of being evil in mafia-style. Was actually fun in an unsettling way.
Just noticed: I can't read a post by Mozared without reading it with his voice in mind.
Dota 2 can't be played at gamescom, that makes me sad. :( If they do a one-fucking-million dollar tournament with an alpha-version, why not let us play it? -_-
I hate games that give you what you need so you can always win. Look at Half Life 2... it's a terrible, terrible game. Ammo boxes EVERYWHERE. Seriously. What the hell? You come across a giant walking strider robot, and there's conveniently a box of infinite rockets nearby? How is that fun? It just makes the game lame. Players shouldn't always be guaranteed a victory. I bet Newell was thinking "hmm, I bet players would like more rockets here. So I'll give them rockets."
Wow... just wow... I really feel sorry for you that you feel like that about the game.
For me gaming is almost never about challenge. HL2 could have an auto-godmode and I still would have had 99% of the fun.
Go play Ninja Gaiden or Battletoads (which is a great game, actually) if you need to prove yourself, or try to get into Grandmaster League if you're more the competetive type. HL was not about beating it, HL was about the atmosphere, it was about experiencing this piece of art.
I found some interesting news pieces on a german news site.

Blizzard DotA will be released around the release of HotS.
Now a word for word translation: "Additionally the battlenet will be extended, for example with a search function for games."
No idea what's that supposed to mean. Maybe the feature wanted by many, the possibility to look for open lobbies?

The marketplace is progressing very slowly. It's doubtful if it will come with HotS, Blizzard itself doesn't know.
Okay, I'm not gonna be so dramatic as the hound above me. :D
But I really think that the majority does not like this change. Oh, I heard complaints about the ground as well, but I couldn't care less.
Well, seems like you lost a couple of regular players. :/ I'm curious about the feedback from TL, maybe you change your mind when more people complain.
I'm sorry, but I have to say I dislike the gameplay changes. :/
The options and the music are great, but I think a huge chunk of skill and tension got taken from the game by making it practically impossible to navigate through longer mazes. I guess the motivation was to aim for shorter matches and faster paced gameplay, but imo it really doesn't work out.
+1 for upload of the old version.

The point of this is not to get unheard maps out there. There are 150 mappers that think their maps should be on the front page. The point is to show the community what we are capable of.

I think that's what he meant.

Oh, and there was no semi-naked Rodrigo promotion video involved. At that point I should have known that it was not reality.

Also, THANK GOD: http://www.gamestar.de/index.cfm?pid=88&pk=2560334
This short article states that they are not working on a Starcraft MMORPG. Good news. :)

There was NO reason to put that anti-rodrigo option into the vote. Why does he feed the trolls?
