Good idea. Im currently working on the multiplayer aspect of it atm.
So im finishing the hide and seek and deathmatch mode first.
Maybe i will include a character chosing screen after the selection of a mode.
Tosh is good at detecting for eksample, and Nova is good at killing in stealth.
Just a few idees.
Also. Im going to make new textures and maybe models for a few things in the map.
Thats at the bottom of my to-do list atm, so tyou have to wait for that.
About the cleave ability. I think you can attach a region to you unit (and offset). So when you use the ability, you can do a "If Then Else" to see if any units are in the region. If then are, then do 10 dmg for example.
Was wondering if any of you know how to make the Minimap (just minmap) show when i spawn a spesific unit or use an ability.
Im working on my map and want a "Place Mini Radar" ability.
This ability places a small dodad / unit with some Hp at a targeted location.
Then this unit enables the Minimap for the player for the duration of the unit.
The unit also has the fuction as a Sensory Tower (shows units on map).
I have hidden the game UI and just have HP / Energy show in the top left.

Alot has been fixed after i recorded this video. So alot of bugs are removed and bindings have been changed.

and i have a few problems. Im trying to make an ability that spawns a small doodad (radar dish) on a selectable area
on the ground. After spawning the doodad, the minimap will appear, showing players (like the sentry tower) in a radius around the radar.
This doodad dies after a selected time and removes the minimap.
Can someone please explain, show or tutorialize on how to make this ability.
Im not very good in the Data editor (worked mostly in trigger editor).

First of, saying your rather play a game of nexus wars instead of 80% of the maps on battlenet isent a very good thing.
That in my oppinion is contributing to the problem. Yes, i agree that simplicity is very important in a game, but if you never go past the 10 minut mark on a map, how can you know its good? Ofc first impressions is important, and yes, i have left a few games after the loadingscreen is done.
But! If you want to find good design and fresh concepts you have to past alot of boring and bland maps.
If you want every map to be good. That cant be done. This is a community, and you cant expect everyone doing reseach and coming up with original idees.Most people on bnet will make a TD, RPG, or a Dota clone. Is this bad? Yes and no. When they do this they learn alot, so for them its an learning experience. And no, because its making maps that already been done.
I myself am creating a map, and im learning a ton. If the map is going to fun, fresh or popular remains to bee seen.
Thanks for the compliment. Being compared to a good game is always fun. I can agree that aiming and firing real projectiles are more fun, but i was following an tutorial (on sc2mapster) that made these trigger. So, i used it as practice.
I may change the firing mechanism to fire projectiles later in the development.
Its planned to be a 2 player Coop story driven map. Location is an underground Terran base that has been attacked.
Im planing to make a few diffrent game modes for this map. 2 player Coop, Deathmatch and Hide and Seek
are some modes im thinking of.
This map is still in the early stages. Currently im working on making the location and surroundings.
If you have any comments, please tell me. Im open to new idees.
EDIT: Now added 3 more rooms, and triggers to connect these. Also added an Interacte ability (E).
This allowes the player to interacte with computers, doors and other things that are planed.
