I don't want to chase you or anything but please create a thread under the Map Feedback section for this WIP Project as the Terrain section is not really appropriate for feedback related things as opposed to technical issues within the Editor.
I will say, however, that it looks really pretty and fits the dark background of Moebius Corps.
Edit: People are more likely to check this thread if it's under Map Feedback, that way you can keep us posted on everything that goes on.
Hey there! At the time when I posted this thread, I wasn't planning to be posting about the project itself. I simply intended this to be just a terrain gallery thread, akin to Daara87's "[WIP] Daara's Draenic City" or Sirdeeds' Terrain Gallery in this subforum. :)
Either way, by now I actually created a thread for the project in the Project Workplace subforum. I'll likely post future Screenshot in said thread. As for the Map Feedback subforum, it's far too early for that as I don't have it in a playable state yet to even test it myself properly.
Why not replace corruptors with infested valkryes?
One of the lessons I learned from my past mod experience: not having everything hinge on assets I don't have or can create. So I plan around the assets aviable to me. Also, I have clear design goals for the Corrupter which enhance the theme I'm going for, while for the valkyrie I don't.
I would add a few more units, like Infested Liberators, Infested BCs, Infested Bunkers, Abominations and Volatile Infested. Perhaps even the Apocalisk.
Right now, their unit roster seems pretty small compared to the other races...
More can always be added, but one thing you must keep in mind: the scope of the campaign. Having fewer missions but many units means I'll have to rush in their introduction hurting the experience.
As for the Liberator: it can be argued that during the timeframe the campaign is set in, there is a huge chance that they didn't actually exist yet.
Battlecruisers on the other hand are something that would hurt later on, as I got plans for the Aleksander in the later parts.
My list didn't cover the bunkers as I sort of counted them to buildings, but also I'm pondering about their implementation. I might not do it the same way Blizz did in Coop.
As for Volatile Infested, they were in earlier drafts, first as units, later transformed from regular infested by Stukov, but finally cut as Stukov received the ability to detonate them directly.
Anyway, more units can always be added, but before I'm overcomplicate things I'd like to first see how the first missions work out.
Welcome to my little thread! Outbreak is a campaign focusing on Admiral Alexei Stukov from the Starcraft franchise.
The story for the campaign is set before his appearance in Heart of the Swarm, explaining his escape from the Moebius facility on Skygeirr as well as what he was doing until he contacted Kerrigan.
In addition to that, you will get to control the Infested Terran faction. This faction might use some elements of the Coop commander, but due to different gameplay goals several things are likely to change. As of now, my focus is to finish the first mission into a playable state. I've posted a few screenshots of said mission already in this thread. Now, I'd like to mention, it's been a long time since I've worked with the data editor and I have to get back into it. Even then, I've never been a big expert, so I might poke around for some solutions here and there, though a friend of mine has quite a bit of experience and can help me out here and there.
Now, as for my gameplay focus: Slightly similar to HotS, you will control a hero most of the time. I'm not planning to create a vast Loadout System or anything like that. Instead, you will be given a prepared set of abilities. Some skills might be modified for a mission if it demands it, but otherwise I'd like to focus on this set. The first mission will focus on Stukov himself:
Outside of Stukov, you shall of course use his infested hordes. The Coop Commander has of course a huge influence, but I'd like to do some things differently as a solo campaign isn't the same as the coop experience. Still, here is a general outline what the Infested faction entails:
As mentioned, this is a general outline and things can change vastly over the course of the development.
Either way, I hope you enjoyed this early preview.
It looks very clean and you can clearly tell what other experiments are happening in the lab, from this I am kinda expecting there to be a Hybrid boss fight. Oh and I see those turrets you sly dog you, I'll be on the lookout for them when I play.
Actually, as of now there is no Hybrid boss! The Hybrid is here to establish Stukov's awereness of the Hybrid program in the facility.
Basically, my idea for the story is about what happened BEFORE Stukov joins up with Kerrigan in HotS. I did find it always weird how Stukov entered the picture out of nowhere. Therefore, why not make use of that and try and tell his story how he got away from Narud. Obviously I'm taking a few liberties with this, though, I'll try to fact check the story as much as I can.
So, I've had a simple idea for a campaign involving Stukov.
Out of fun, I started to do actually some terraining work and I thought I'd share it here.
I'm not sure yet how far I will go with this, but either way, enjoy!
The design is really different if compared to the wc3 one http://warcraft3.mysteria.cz/pictures/wallpapers/wall-infernal.jpg Is Also different if compared with the remastered one, why it has giant shoulders and the chest is replaced with a giant cavity? If this is an attempt to remake the infernal with your personal style it start to have sense and I can say that is a nice model, but it is not for sure a real remake of the original infernal imho
It's the new Infernal model from WoW's 6.2 patch adapted for SC2, as well as adding a rock elemental version of it.
Many installed the LotV "directly" through the battle.net launcher. As abvdzh mentioned, people forced the battle.net app via the console to install the beta from the blizzard servers. (I did it myself)
The resulted install is (at least for me) displayed as a "Beta: Heart of the Swarm", but it is the LotV build. (got all the proper files, and if it launches it displays the LotV loading screen )
ALSO HOW DO I TURN OFF THAT DAMNED REGION COLOR? It's putting a big blue hue all over the place and I can't terrain properly... (Rather than unchecking "visible" one by one)
Try simply Shift + R, or go into the menu "View -> Show Layer -> Regions".

Quick question: did you animate it yourself, or did you reuse some animations from wc3/wow?

Nice! =)
Hmm, is it only me, or is the lower body slightly too long?

Well, no idea on your first and third question...
As for the second:
Try simply Shift + R, or go into the menu "View -> Show Layer -> Regions".
