Hey all, working on a map that would have vehicals in it (using the whole mount vehical system) and i want to make it so that when your in the vehical, outside of course of using the abilities etc, the default right click is move (and not attack when right clicking on a unit etc) and the default for left click is to shoot the turret/cannon/missile/etc. Any help on some directions would be great, thank you.
ps. Also, would want these to have a weapon specific cool down xD
I wont call my self an expert in any category because I am by no means an expert, lol, but I have done quite a large amount of work with both the data editor and trigger effects, I can create custom abilities fairly well along with i can throw together some very nice looking terrain. I have done work on some TD style maps along with some RPG style maps, I do play D&D irl so you can always count on me if you need a storyboard put together or just need to kick around ideas as well. I am ok with balancing power/cost etc, but mostly I leave that up to trial and error and feedback. If you want any specifics please let me know.
I have done alot of work both with the WC3 and SC2 editors, hell even back as far as that SC1 editor lol, and just looking to join projects to expand on my knowlage base. Please feel free to hit me up with any sort of work ;)
So I want to make an RPG, yet i dont want it to be omfg boring like all the other ones that are playable atm. I have a story in the works, and yes, im doing that first so its not a "go to point A, shoot enemy A" type game
however, im looking for feedback on abilities for units.
going with four class types to start, then making 3 of each type.
Fighter (think your tank and melee DD)
Psi Master (Mage for control and damage)
Detector - always on
Scry (semi long distance Scanner Sweep)
Force Field
Psi Storm
Feedback
Psycho Stasis (Prevents the enemy from moving/acting and deals a DoT)
Phoenix Blast (deals heavy AoE damage but reduces hp to 1 and prevents moving/acting, after 10 seconds restores full hp and energy. Very high energy cost)
Healer (Healer unit with buffs and debuffs)
Guardian Shield
Scout (Rogue unit with cloak, and high damage single target and trap abilities)
so if anyone has any idea for skills/abilities please feel free to share ;)

Along the lines of "space station is infested and the last remaining non infested are each working to destroy key components to bring the station down and destroy it in the atmosphere. The infested are trying to repair the station to make it able to land and infest the planet."
so something like two teams of 5 which are trying to work against each other to repair/destroy the ship. As parts get finished or perma destroyed, more sections of the ship open up. From the old parasite game, things like food and such would still be applied to everyone, including the infested. and food itself is a game of musical chairs, someone is always going hungry. Go hungry too much and die.
If anyone would like to help make this or has ideas to toss in, please hit me up in game or on here ;)

I am trying to figure out a way to have the splash damage of an effect ignore the caster. Normally you could just use the exclusion effect - caster, however because this damage is coming from an ability that first modifies behavior (IE Ability - > modify behavior -> Behavior on start uses effect of splash damage -> behavior on end regenerates starting caster) i am finding no way of having him exclude himself.
Thanks a ton, i got it working. Now i just need to get the second issue resolved, i want to make two custom points on the minimap to show players where the mineral points are and where the gas points are.
After 6 hours of this, i still have had no luck in the first issue. I have been unable to find a way to have a controlled unit give resources to a team.
I am also looking for how to add a custom symbol to the mini map (akin to what the Xal Tower displays) so players can tell the difference between a victory point, a mineral point, and a gas point.
Hey there, im working on making a map akin to something you may find in Dawn of war or Company of hereos. Atm i hit a snag though so looking for someone who can help. I have resource points that are captureable by infintry units, however i need to have the game provide resources over time to the owning team of said points. Anyone know how i would go about doing this?
