The launchers were mostly made during beta, because the beta passes were so few and far between, using a launcher let you play vs ai that wasn't written in the galaxy editor because... the galaxy editor wasn't out.
what you need is to buy a desktop. xD My laptop has higher specs than that. Uhm, ram is probably your bottleneck because 8800 has only 256 mb video ram. Also, starcraft should run on high in your computer perfectly. If it doesnt you need to get rid of alot of laggy software running in the background.
I was wondering what the area north of the crater in the south middle of the map. I decided that the corpses of marines and colonists were actually constructing some type of device that attracted the zerg, similar to how the psi emitter attracted the zerg in sc1.
also added some terrain deformation, and alot of small vegetation. Made the northern part of the map seem like a part of the rockies in nevada.
So, I want to make a large neon sign with funky print to signify a town in a map i'm making. I think i can do it with just landing lights with different colors stacked and arranged, but can anyone think of a easier/cleaner method of getting this POPPING image, without custom models
Get polygon count and texture size of units on screen. Polygon count is additive per individual unit but texture memory used is only for each individual type on screen, thanks for that nvidia! =] If you also know the amount of ground textures used, doodad textures and polygons, and lighting effects it will make it a more comparable test.
Ahh, i was unaware of the 30 day trial. I guess i just assumed i'd have to pirate it. A different question that may reduce the amount of stuff i have to download; Video and image conversion software is everywhere. Are there any FREE applications that will allow me to convert m3's into 3dm's or another file format that's usable in autocad, and then back when i'm done?
I am looking for some type of plugin to allow me to use M3 models in autocad 2011 or solidworks 2010. Autocad is preferred but either would be awesome.

I do all my structures like that. Take a look at two of them, one in working condition and one worn down.
