Hey folks, looking to get more feedback about thsi game and possibly play some games! Also, if anyone would be so kind as to publish on EU, please contact me!
Hi there. I'm approaching the release version of my map Snipers 2.0. The beta is published on NA, just search "snipers" (searching "Snipers 2.0" doesn't work for some reason . . . !) The map is, of course, inspired by the BW original, but with some new features. Bullets are colliding projectiles and there are four sniper classes to choose from catering to different playstyles. Also, every class has a knife attack (so keep your distance or surprise your foe)!
This is my first map on the SC2 editor, so I wanted to make a relatively simplistic map. I loved the original to bits (Shout out to Elite Snipers!), so this was a natural choice. As I got more and more immersed in making the game, I went much deeper into the editor than I had originally planned. Now we're here!
I created a damage effect, but when I try to link the damage effect to a new ability (Effect - Instant), it does not show up in the list. If I manually enter its ID using raw data fields, when I link the ability to my unit, the ability does not link properly.
Hi there - I'm trying to create an ability where a unit deals damage to any unit in a 150 degree arc in front of him with very short, "melee" range.
I've tried brainstorming a few ideas to accomplish this but all my work with the data editor so far has been very reliant on tweaking other players' guides!
Hi folks. I know many newer writers have been having difficulty with the lobby, and I consulted most of the advice to be found out there. I'm still stuck, however.
Here's my problem:
-At lobby, players all belong to one team with attribute values to select team RED or team BLUE.
-Attribute values read: BLUE 1, BLUE 2, BLUE 3, BLUE 4, RED 1, RED 2, RED 3, RED 4.
-At map initialization, a while loop assigns the player with attribute value Blue 1 to playerNumbers[0], Blue 2, to playerNumbers[1], etc etc.
-At two seconds, players stored in playerNumbers[0] to playerNumbers[3] are assigned to playergroup blueTeam. [4] to [7] are assigned to playergroup redTeam.
-Players in blueTeam set each player in redTeam to hostile, and vice versa.
-Players in blueTeam set each player in blueTeam to allies no shared vision. Same with red.
What happens:
-Only BLUE 1 and RED 1 are enemies. Everyone else is allied with shared vision. Only RED 1 AND BLUE 1 can kill, and only eachother.
This is really starting to grind my gears. Hopefully you lovely folk can help. Thanks in advance!

I'd love to - but I'm out in the country at the moment so I have a no-good connection! :( Maybe check looking for custom games or ask a friend?

Yeah, I just got rid of everything and re-did it, and everything started showing up on the list. Just a GUI bug I spose.
